CHAPTER TWO Elizabeth woke up with sunlight in her room as well as someone on her bed. "Lizzie! You're awake! Did you know I waited so long for you to visit and now you did!" "Morning LuLu." Liz said. "I came to get my teddy bear, but I saw
you and I forgot all about it until now. Guess what. Nikki is taking me to
watch a movie. "Wow, you must be ecstatic." Liz said starting to smile. "What does et'satic mean?" "Ecstatic." Liz corrected her, "It means happy." "Oh! then I'm et'static... are you?" "Hey." Lucky greeted the two girls, entering the room. "Lucky! I didn't know you were coming home! Did you sleep over like 'Lizabeth?" LuLu asked, jumping into her brother's arms. "Uh huh. Elizabeth, are you feeling better." "Yeah, mostly. Just give me five minutes and I'll be on my way." "No, no. Take your time. I'll take you home when you're ready." "Okay." Liz said, "I'll be down soon." Lucky nodded and took Lesley Lu downstairs for breakfast. ********************************************************************************* "Are you going to tel her so she can pack?" Laura asked Lucky. "I don't think so. She might not agree. It's okay, Ruby said she'll look after Elizabeth's stuff, meaning the house, while we're gone. I have to do this mom." "All right. You go pick up her stuff from Ruby and I'll keep Liz here. Maybe she'll open up to me." "Okay, I'll be back." Lucky said and then left. Elizabeth came down the stairs, "Laura? I'm going to go now. I--" "No." Laura said. "Why not?" "Because you haven't eaten breakfast yet." "It's okay. I'll have it at home." "I'd rather you have it here. Come
on. I made eggs and of course you can have cereal." Laura said leading Liz to
the kitchen Lucky closed the trunk, in which he had filled with his luggage and Elizabeth's luggage. He entered his house to find Elizabeth sitting with LuLu who was colouring. "Oh, " Liz said seeing Lucky, "I'm going to go now sweetie, I'll see you later, doll." she told LuLu. "Bye." LuLu replied. Lucky led Liz outside and sat her down on the steps of the front porch. "Elizabeth, I know that after you were raped, I was the safest place for you. Being with me, you felt protected. Do you remember that?" Elizabeth looked down, "I remember." "Elizabeth..... I need you to really remember. So much, that maybe you'll start to believe it." "Lucky, if you want that to happen, it might take some time." she immediately replied. "Don't you want it to happen?" "Lucky, I would dream of the day we can go back, but we can't. We never can." "Okay, well then just close your eyes." "Lucky, I am not--" "Trust me, okay? Just close your
eyes." Liz but her lip as he closed her eyes, "Okay, give me your
hand." he said. She lifted her hand and Lucky took it. He pulled "Where are we going Lucky?" she asked. "I am taking you on a trip." ******************************************************************************** "So Laura only gave me breakfast to keep me there?" Liz asked Lucky. "She wanted you to stay. Honestly. Umm, I know that mom and you would visit, but when you stopped, she got worried." "I'm fine. She saw me and...." Liz trailed off, "So, can I start asking you why you took us away from Port Charles for no reason?" she asked. Lucky glanced at her, "Oh, there is a reason." he told her turning his head to look back to the road, "What?" he asked her noticing the silence. "Nothing, it's just that.... did you have to steal me off?" "Elizabeth would you have come any other way?" "No." "Well, there we go. Oh... hey...
here we are." Lucky announced. Liz looked out the window, "Lucky,
it's beautiful here." He parked the car "Let's go." he said getting out of the car. She reluctantly got out also but stood there as Lucky unloaded the trunk. He saw the look on Elizabeth's face, and said,
"Look. This place is safe, I swear. And even if something happens, I'll
keep you safe, just like always." Entering the house, Lucky said, "It's a very up to date cabin. I mean, no wood walls. It's just like a really really small house." "I like it." she said putting her bags down. "But?" "But what? Lucky, you bring me here and you won't tell me why. How else should I feel?" she asked. "Okay, how about this." he said
leading her to the couch, "We had a fight before we broke up. I know that's not
the reason why we broke up, but why did we? "What do you mean?" "I mean, why would you forgive me, but refuse to be together again?" |
