Chapter 6: Allies

Luke was walking up the Hardy’s porch steps when he saw the front door open and Audrey came rushing out.

"What happened?"

"Let me put her in bed first, then I’ll fill you in"

Audrey led Luke up to Elizabeth’s room and Luke gently laid her on her bed. Audrey covered her with a quilt and they left her alone.

Once they were seated on the couch, Luke told her what had happened.

"Oh, my God. I’m so sorry Luke. I’m sure Lucky’s fine. He’s strong and can take care of himself" Audrey said, trying to comfort him.

"Thanks Audrey". He got up and began to walk towards the door.

"Please tell Elizabeth that I will be by in the morning to take her to the police station to give her statement."

"I will" Audrey said. "Luke, what are you going to do?"

Luke’s composure cracked for a split second and Audrey could see how terrified he was. "I have to tell Laura" he said, and left.



Nikolas had decided to visit his mother on this day. He knew that she would be upset because Luke wasn’t around, and he didn’t want her to spend today alone. He decided to cut through the park, because it was the shortest route to the Spencer home. When he got to the edge of the park, he saw all of the police officers milling about, and became concerned. He was well aware of what had happened to Liz in the park and he was afraid that it had happened to someone else.

He started to walk through, when he was stopped by a police officer.

"I’m sorry sir, but you can’t come through. This is a crime scene".

"Crime scene? What happened?"

"As far as we know, an attempted rape" the officer responded.

Nikolas became worried. He started to walk through again and was stopped by the same guy. He was about to protest, when he saw Mac Scorpio walking towards him.

"Who was it?" was all Nikolas asked.

"I’m sorry Nikolas. Tom Baker tried to rape Elizabeth Webber tonight".

Nikolas gasped. He couldn’t believe it. "Is she all right? Was she alone?"

"She’s fine. Apparently, Lucky was with her. He got Baker off of her".

"Good, I know he’d die before he let anything happen to her".

He saw the effect those last words had on Mac and he felt the blood drain from his face.

"Lucky is all right, isn’t he?" Nikolas asked, afraid of the answer.

Mac debated wether to tell him. He was Lucky’s half-brother, so he did have a right to know. "We don’t know where Lucky is".

"What do you mean? Does Laura know?"

"We found Luke with Elizabeth, so I assume he told her. We found Lucky’s earring, his wallet, and blood we believe is his. We haven’t found him, though."

"Wait, do you mean Tom Baker took Lucky? Why?" Nikolas asked. "What’s being done to get him back?"

"Miss Webber was the only witness. The last time she saw him he was fighting Tom. We have put out an APB for both Lucky Spencer and Tom Baker. As to why Baker took Lucky, I don’t know, but I intend to find out".

Nikolas stood there, unwilling to believe what he had just been told. He had to go see his mother. Nikolas walked past Mac to the other side of the park, and, this time, no one made a move to stop him.
