Chapter 4: Confusion

Pain.... It was everywhere. The constant movement wasn’t helping matters. His whole body ached. He tried to recall what had happened, but couldn’t. He slowly regained consciousness and realized that he was in a car. A moving car. He felt the rope cutting painfully into his wrists as his hands were held behind him. He also felt the cloth that tightly covered his mouth, aggravating his bruised lips. There was also a piece of rope securing his feet, but that one wasn’t as painful as the others because of the legs of his jeans. He didn’t move or open his eyes, because he was still trying to figure out what had happened, and who was driving the car.

The car suddenly hit a big bump, and he couldn’t help but groan.

"So, you’re awake. It took you long enough" the driver said.

‘That voice, I know that voice’ he thought. Suddenly it came to him ‘Tom!’.

He remembered what had happened. Elizabeth and the fight he couldn’t win. He remembered Tom hitting him until he fell and then kicking him until he could no longer stay awake. He had looked up and seen Tom’s face before losing consciousness.

Another bump caused him to let out another involuntary groan.

"That ought to teach you to mind your own business. Now, I’m going to have a little fun with you". Tom said.

Lucky finally managed to open his eyes, and he stared with complete hatred at Tom.

"Well, I have to hand it to you, you’re gutsy" he said and with his right arm he reached over and ran his hand slowly, almost tenderly, down Lucky’s face.

Lucky flinched away from him, but he moved too fast and instantly felt his body on fire. The pain was too much for his mind to handle, and he lost consciousness again.

Tom saw Lucky move away from him and wince in pain, then he saw Lucky slump into his seat. ‘Yes, this is going to be fun’ he thought with a smile.

Ever since the Quartermaine brat had accused him of black mail and her little friends had come to her rescue, he had vowed revenge. Imagine his surprise when he realized that one of Emily’s friends was the little bitch from the park. He loved how she had squirmed under his gaze. He had looked forward to a repeat performance of Valentines day when the other two had come waltzing into the studio.

He looked over at Lucky once again. The kid did have guts. He had stood facing the barrel of the loaded gun and not even blinked. He could probably have gotten away with what he had planned on doing if this smart assed kid hadn’t shown up. Later, at the trial, he had wanted to wring his neck for being so cocky. His little girlfriend’s outburst had given Tom his freedom, and he was going to make them pay. If he couldn’t take it out on her, he would have his fun with this one.
