| Chapter 3: Lucky walks over to the other side of Emily’s bed. He just looks at her and notices how pale and worn down she is. He couldn’t believe this had happened. What had gone wrong? Could Emily have gotten involved in drugs and he didn’t even notice? What kind of friend is that? "Emily......" Luke starts to say before she interrupts him. "Lucky, you should go. I am not in the best shape here." Emily tries to tell him. Lucky knew what she was trying to do. She was trying to spare him in seeing her in the kind of shape she was in and she also didn’t want him to see this side of her. But, he didn’t care. He wasn’t there to protect her before, so he would be now. "No!" Lucky says and then shakes his head. "I am *not* going to leave. I am going to help you through this, Emily." Lucky says. Emily is silent for a few minutes and then she looks at AJ. AJ nods. "I think it’s a good thing your here. Emily, I am going to give you guys a few minutes alone." "Don’t leave me." Emily protests. "I won’t. I’ll just be right out the door. Hollar if you need me." AJ says and then walks out the door. Emily keeps her glance away from Lucky. Lucky notices this and sits next to her bed in a chair. "Why won’t you look at me. Emily, please, look at me!" Lucky says. ############################################################### Ned and Luke walk over to AJ when they see him come out of the room. "How is she?" Ned asks. "Well, not well. Seeing Lucky here I think calmed her down a bit. Thank you, Luke." AJ says. "I knew he would want to be here for her." Luke says. Monica and Alan come racing down the hallway when they see Luke, Ned, and AJ. "Where is she? I want to see her." Monica says. "Lucky is in with her. He just got here. Just give them a little time." Ned tells them. "I want to see her. She almost died, Ned." Monica says. Alan places his hand on his wife’s shoulder to calm her down. "I know. I know, but I think this will do her some good." Ned says. "Tell us what happened?" Alan asks. ############################################################# Sarah and Nikolas catch up with Lizzie in the entrance to GH. Lizzie turns around when she sees them both. "Oh, I see, you decided to come and show a little support." Lizzie says with a glare. "Look, Liz, I care about Emily and Lucky. I just didn’t want to crowd them. Besides, when did you become so close with Lucky." Sarah asks. "When you were so preoccupied with Nikolas here. You are so.....so selfcentered!" Lizzie yells and then storms into GH. Sarah looks at Nikolas with sad eyes. She didn’t feel like she was being selfish. Was she? Nikolas understands what she is feeling and he brings her close for along hug. ################################################################ Emily looks at Lucky. "I’m sorry." She whispers. "What are you sorry for? I’m the one who is sorry." Lucky says. "Why?" Emily asks. "I should have been here for you more. How could I not notice that things were changing when you started hanging out with Matt. When you started acting and dressing different. What kind of friend doesn’t notice those things?" Lucky says. "You couldn’t have known. I hid it well." "But I should’ve. You were always there for me. I pushed you away so many times, but no more. I won’t let you go through this alone. I promise you that." He holds out his hand and Emily places hers in his. "I will be there for you every step of the way." Lucky tells her. |
