| Chapter 10: A smile escapes Sarah’s mouth as Nikolas says her name. She was so happy to hear from him. "Nikolas?" Sarah questions. "Yes. I didn’t want to end things the way we did." Nikolas tells her. "I’m sorry, Nikolas. I really don’t know what got over me. Can we meet tomorrow and talk?" Sarah asks. "Sure. Let’s talk before I go see Emily." Nikolas says wondering how she was going to react. Sarah didn’t like the fact that Nikolas cared so much about Emily, but him and Emily were just friends, right? "All right." Sarah replies. "See you tomorrow." Sarah says and then they hang up the phone. "Everything all right between you two?" Audrey asks. Sarah didn’t know what to say. Things weren’t like they were with Nikolas and she hoped that she didn’t blow it with him. "I don’t know, Gram. We’re going to meet tomorrow and talk." Sarah says. "I’m glad, dear. Get some rest." Audrey tells her. "Thanks." Sarah replies and heads up to her room. ################################## Laura smiles at her son. She knew he was a little embarrassed with telling her about Liz. "All right. I won’t push." Laura says with a smile. "Thanks. We’re going to a movie and dinner, but that’s all I’m telling you. I am going to go to bed so I can go see Emily tomorrow morning." Lucky says. "Ok. Tell her hi from us." Laura says. Lucky nods and then heads up to bed. Luke joins Laura in the kitchen. "His first date." Laura says. Luke wraps his arms around her and laughs. "Yep. That’s our cowboy." Luke replies. "Do you think you need to have a talk with him?" Laura asks pulling away from her husband. "A talk?" "You know about what to do on the date." "Na - I think he knows. He’s got the Spencer blood." Luke says with a laugh. ################################################# Emily didn’t know what to say. Matt was calling her and she was in no mood to talk to him. "Matt, what do you want?" Emily asks. "I wanted to check and see how you were doing. I am worried about you, ok?" Matt says. "Matt, I can’t talk to you anymore. It’s just too much." "Why? I thought we were friends." Matt says. "We were. You are still doing drugs and I can’t and don’t want to do that anymore. It’s best if I stayed away from you - completely." Emily tells him. "Em, are you telling me that you blame me for your drug addiction? Is that what you are saying?" Matt asks. "No, Matt. Look, I need to go to sleep. I’ll talk to you some other time. Please just stay away." Emily says as she hangs up the phone. |
