Chapter 5:
“Um, a date sure.” Emily said.
“Ok, great I’ll pick you up at 7:30 and wear something nice.” Lucky said.
“Mind if I ask wear we are going?” Emily asked.
“No you can ask but I’m not going to tell you.” Lucky replied.
“Fine,” Emily looks at her watch and says, “Lucky I gotta jet, its almost 5:00 and I don’t know what to wear.”
In Emily’s room
Emily digs threw her closet and decides to wear a forest green dress that is above the knee, with spaghetti straps. She puts her hair up in a French twist and finishes putting her make up on.
At 7:30 Lucky arrives at the Quartermains’, he rings the door bell and Edward answers it, and says, “What do you want?”
Lucky answered, “I’m here to pick up Emily, is she ready?”
Emily, “Yeah Lucky, I’m ready.” As she walks down the stairs.
Lucky, “Wow, you look great. Here this is for you.” He hands her a yellow rose.
“Thank you, its beautiful you look great, too.”
He was wearing a black suit with a forest green tie.
They walked to a fancy Italian restaurant. Once inside Lucky goes and talks to a waiter and slips him some money and shakes his hand. He walks back to where Emily was waiting.
She looks at him full of curiosity and says, “What was that for?”
“Its a surprise.” Luck said.
They go get seated and are handed menus Emily thinking, “Great now what am I going to do. I have to get something or Lucky will know something is up. What can I get? Ug, everything is so full of fat.” She is so deep in thought that she doesn’t notice the waiter is there.
“Oh sorry, I’ll have a vegetable lasagna.” Emily says.
“I’ll have a regular lasagna.” Lucky said.
Emily looks around the room and notices a small dance floor, that is playing Italian music.
“We should dance later.” Emily says
Lucky takes her hand and says “Yeah, we should.”
“So what are we going to do after this.” Emily asked.
“Its a surprise.” Lucky said
“Aren’t you even going to give me a hint.” Emily asked.
“Nope.” Lucky replied with a grin.
Their food arrived and Lucky started eating and Emily just picked at her food and ate half of it.
“Oh, it looks like our dessert is here.” Lucky said.
“Lucky we didn’t order desset.” Emily said.
“Oh yes we did, look.” Lucky said smiling.
The waiter set down two crystal bowls with a grape snowcones in the middle of them.
“Lucky is this what you where talking to him earlier about?” Emily asked.
“Yes and more.” he replied.
They start eating there snowcones and Emily excuses herself and goes to the bathroom. She sticks her fingers down her throat and threw-up her food. She was excepting that they would go eat so she had a toothbrush in her purse she quickly brushed her teeth and when she was heading back to sit down, she heard her favorites song starting to play and Lucky was standing next to the table with his hand out and mouthed, “Wanna dance?”
Emily nodded and said, “How did you get them to play this instead of that Italian music?”
“My little secret,” Lucky said with a smile.
They walked to the dance floor hand in hand. When they got there Lucky spined Emily and she laughed with delight, he pulled her in close and she laid her head softly on his shoulder as Lucky started to quietly started to sing it to her.
