Chapter 38: The priest continued, "These two have chosen to write their own
vows, they will now proceed." he nodded at Lucky to begin. Lucky took a deep breath and took Liz's hands in his.
"Elizabeth Webber, I take you as my wife. For now, forever." "I never thought that I could feel this way about someone, and
have them feel it in return. Our love in a miracle from God. I will never feel this way
about another person as long as I live. When I first met you I didn't realize what as
integral part of my life you would be. You are my girl, and I'll be your guy forever and
ever. Our love sustains me, it will never die. What I feel for you Elizabeth is as real as
it gets, and nothing will ever change that. I will stand by you, in richer and in poorer,
in sickness and in health, I will love and cherish you until death do us part." Liz smiled up at him through the veil, her eyes shining with tears
of joy and love. Lucky took her hand and slipped the ring on. Liz began her vow to Lucky, "Lucas Spencer, I take you as my
husband. For now, forever." "I love you with all my being, I could never love another human
being as I do you. You complete me Lucky, I can't imagine my life without the other half
of me, that's you. I nearly lost you recently, adn it made me realize axactly how much I
need you in my life. You are my life. My heart belongs to you, and you alone, forever.
Remember once when I told you you were my angel? Well, it's true, more than you can know.
I will tell you now what I told you then. I trust you with my life Lucky, and now I am
entrusting it to you forever. I will love you, in richer or poorer, sicknes and in health,
I will love and cherish you until death do us part." Liz slipped the ring on Lucky's hand. He smiled at her, tears
glistening in his eyes as well. THey heard sobbing from the congregation. Laura was crying, which
was no surprise to anyone. She cried at any wedding, and this one was the one of her son.
Luke sat beside her, looking slightly embarassed. The priest asked Lucky, "Do you, Lucas Lorenzo Spencer Jr.,
take Elizabeth Imogene Webber as your lawfully wedded wife?" Lucky grinned, "I do." "Do you, Elizabeth Imogene Spencer, take Lucas Lorenzo Spencer
Jr. as your lawfully wedded husband?" "I do," Liz said softly. THe priest smiled, "What God has joined, let no man break
apart. By the power invested in me I know pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss
the bride." Lucky lifted Elizabeth's veil ove her head. He leaned down and
touched his lips gently to hers. As they kissed, everyone in the chapel clapped
enthusiastically. THey pulled apart, their eyes locked. Lucky kept his hand
intertwined with Liz's. They looked out at their gathered family and friends, all there to
support them. Neither had any doubt in their minds that they had done the right thing. Their love was honest, pure and eternal. Their marriage had a strong
foundation of love, trust and friendship. They had a beautiful daughter whom they loved
nearly as much as each other. They were each others homes, they would be togehter forever,
just as they'd promised. Their love had already been tested and they had survived all live
had thrown their way. They were now joined together in the eyes of God and the law. Sarah hugged Liz, "I'm so happy for you Liz." "Thanks," Liz whispered back, "Thank you so much for
being here. I love you Sarah." "I'd hope so," Sarah kidded, but Liz could see how much
that simple sentiment meant to her. Nik shook hands and then hugged Liz, "Welcome to the family
sis. My brother doesn't deserve all he's getting, but as long as you're happy......." "Thanks Nik, but I'm perfectly happy." Liz smiled,
"It'll be nice to have another brother though." Em hugged both Liz and Lucky. "I'm so happy for you both!
ALthough I always knew this would happen. Just promise I cna come visit you." "You're always welcome Em, you know taht," Lucky said. They walked down the aisle together, husband and wife. They would
survive. They had endured so much already, and had overcome it all.
