Chapter 14: Arrival
Lucky was roughly awakened. He hadnt realized he even dosed off until he felt Tom
shaking him. He winced from the pain the shaking was causing him and opened his eyes.
Rise and shine, were here Tom said almost cheerfully.
Wheres here? Lucky asked.
A quaint little cabin in Vermont.
Vermont? Lucky asked, panicked. How the hell could we be in Vermont? No
wonder we
traveled for so long. How is anyone going to find us here?
You heard right. You dont think Id stay in Port Charles do you? The
point is not
to be found.
Tom got out of the truck and went to the passengers side. He opened the door and
roughly pulled Lucky out. Tom turned him around and put the rope around his wrists,
tying his hands, once again, behind him. This time, Lucky did feel the rope burns on
his wrists as the rope rubbed against them. Tom closed the door and pushed Lucky
towards the front door of the cabin.
The cabin was small. It contained only one room and a pantry. It was sparsely
furnished with only a couch, a table with a few chairs, a stove and sink, a
fireplace, and a couple small couches. The front door was the only way in and out of
the cabin. It was also completely surrounded by the forest. There was no way the
cabin could be seen from the road. They were completely isolated.
Tom walked Lucky over to the stove and handcuffed him to one of the legs. He placed
one end of the cuffs on the leg and the other on the rope that bound his wrists
together. Lucky had no choice but to lay on the ground, which was ice cold.
I would hate for you to try anything Tom said.
Lucky just stared at him.
My father used to own this place. He brought me here when I was a kid.
Yeah, Lucky said sarcastically, I bet he never though you would use it
to hide in
from the police with a kidnapped minor.
Lucky was rewarded with a swift kick to the mouth. Dont you dare say anything
about
my father. Tom growled.
Lucky spit blood out of his mouth, which was difficult, because he could barely move
his lips.
He half expected to see teeth in with the blood. He was relieved when there werent
any.
Tom kneeled next to him and grabbed Luckys shirt pulling him up as far as the cuffs
would allow. Blood was dripping out of his mouth, onto the floor.
You still think youre tough? Just wait until Im finished with you.
Youll be
Lucky to stand upright. He shoved him hard against the stove and smiled
at Luckys
outcry. Well see whos tough.
