| -Chapter 1- ~A Song for Love~ Elizabeth Webber sat by her window and looked out over the trees. Her window was open and the hot summer air blew in the slight breeze. Already her summer seemed to be the absolute pits. Nothing seemed to be happening in Port Charles. Okay so its not as though she wanted a murder spree or something but not the same mundane thing day after day. Elizabeth turned and looked at her bed. She then thought about the mat that was still under there for Lucky. Elizabeth got up and walked across the room to her CD player. She pressed number 5 and then pressed play. With in seconds her room was filled with the sounds of Isaac Hanson singing Surely As The Sun. She knew she would be regretting ever telling Lucky she liked him as more then a friend. For some reason the song reminded her of them. She walked over to the bed and flopped down. ****As surely as the sun rises each day. So my love will never change. And though the years may come and go. My love will only grow, grow. Sometimes I wonder what you see in me. Cause Im only a man flawed in so many ways you see. I want to share every moment of the day with you. And I want to share every sunset and every sunrise and every moonlit night. As surely as the sun rises each day. So my love will never change. And though the years may come and go. My love will only grow, grow. Sometimes I wonder what you see in me. Cause Im only a man flawed in so many ways you see. As surely as the sun rises each day. So my love will never change. And though the years may come and go. My love will only grow, grow. **** As the song ended Lizzie sat up as though she had just had a brilliant Idea. "I know exactly what Im doing this summer." She said to herself with a proud smile. She got up and rushed to her closet looking for nothing particular but something exact. Emily Quartermaine allowed her feet to dangle into the warm water of the pool. The Hot summer sun shone down on her as she spent her afternoon thinking of a perfect summer she would never have. Her perfect summer included having Lucky Spencer acknowledge she existed other then when she almost dies. Of course the threat of her being kidnapped hadnt fazed her at all. Maybe she should have asked Jason if she could keep the bodyguards just in case Lucky decided to notice her and then he would be turned away. Emily laughed at the thought of them Carting Lucky away and the look of total confusion on his face. With in an instant she felt a splash of water rise from the pool and drenches her. She snapped out of her gaze and looked up to see her older brother AJ swimming towards her. "Hey Em, Whats up?" "Nothing, I was just thinking. Thank you so very much for drenching me." She said sarcastically. "No Problem. Let me know if I can help you out again." "Dont worry I will." She looked around at the large yard of the estate and sighed. "Im going to go back to the house. Ill see you later." "Bye Em." "Bye AJ." She got out of the pool and walked back to the house. She walked in through a back entrance and as she walked through the foyer she noticed that the mail had come that day. She went to check and see if there were any magazines and she found a letter addressed to her. She took it and went up to her room. Once inside the privet room she looked at the envelope again and saw that there was no return address. She shrugged and opened the letter. The opening gave a slight clue as to whom the author was. Emily read the letter to her self silently, "Dear Emmy, I know its been a long time since you heard from me. I mean we havent seen each other in years. I miss you and Port Charles. I even miss my cousin Lucky. Speaking of Lucky have the two of you started to date yet? If not Im very surprised with the two of you. We all thought you guys would end up together dont prove us wrong. So the reason Im writing to you other then to make sure your okay is to tell you that Im returning to Port Charles. This boarding school is so boring that there is nothing to do during the summer so I convinced my Uncle and Aunt to allow me to come home. Ill stop by on the 1st of July. Hopefully you will have received this letter by then. I gotta go and get ready for an exam. Your Friend, Sly Eckhart." Emily went over the words again in her mind as she tried to comprehend what one of her dearest, best-friends had just told her in this letter. Emily sat up and then looked at the calendar next to her bed. It was then that she realized that today was July 1st. "Sly will be here today!" She rushed over to her dresser and pulled out some clothes. She frantically got dressed and then she went over to her phone and dialed the beeper number that Lucky had given her. She kept her fingers crossed as she silently prayed it was working. She left a message with his voice mail and then waited for his call. About 10 minutes later her phone rang. "Hello?" "Emily, whats up?" "Lucky, Slys going to be stopping by my house this afternoon. He sent me a letter, which I didnt get until today. I think it would be a good idea if you stopped by." "Sure. Ill be there in about a half-hour 45 minutes." "Okay, great. See you then. Bye." "Bye." Emily hung up the phone and sank down into a bean bag chair. Lucky hung up the phone and looked around at the room he was in. He couldnt believe it he was in Wyndamer because Nikolas had asked him there. "Who paged you?" Nikolas asked. "Emily, my cousin Sly is apparently back in town and hes stopping by Emilys later and she thinks I should be there. I have no idea why. It was kinda weird talking to her though. I never really see her." "Thats because you apparently only have eyes for Elizabeth." "What are you talking about? Liz and I are only friends." "Yeah, sure Lucky. If thats true then Hanson is going to walk though the door." Lucky looked at the door waiting for them. Nikolas shook his head and rolled his eyes. "Lucky! You know Hanson is not going to walk through the door. If they did I would run away. They are scary." Nikolas tried not to crack up at the thought of the three boys walking through the house. "I better go and see whats up with Emily and Sly. Ill talk to you later." Lucky walked away from his brother. Lark sat in the Kitchen of the Scanlon house. Summer was here and there was no one to play with. Joe, Karen, Julie, Frank and Eve all had to work. Its not as though she liked Julie or any of them other then Frank. Yet lately she had decided that it would be better if she played with kids her own age. The back door opened and Lark jumped. All she could see entering the house was a pair of female legs and a bunch of suitcases. "Excuse me but can I help you?" Lark asked, not sure of what was happening. The suitcases dropped and a young girl jumped back. She appeared to be about the same age as Lark, she was slightly taller though. She had honey blond hair and blue eyes. She wore a black skirt that was cut just above her knee and a white blouse. Her hair was in a short pixie cut. Then she spoke. "Excuse me but who are you? What are you doing here?" Her voice was filled with fright. "I could ask you the same thing. My names Lark, I live here. Now tell me who you are." The girl looked at Lark in total confusion. She then cleared her throat and spoke again. "My name is Kathryn-Corrin Scanlon. My Oldest Brothers Frank and Joe own this house," "Frank never mentioned you and neither did Joe." "Well I dont think they were please with my life decision." "Life decision? How old are you?" "Yes my life decision. Im 16 almost 17." "What decision would that be?" "Im studying to become a Nun." "Oh well dont hang around me. Im not the sweet little innocent thing you seem to be." "Yeah well, looks can be deceiving." She walked over to her bags and began to gather them up. "Whoa, are you trying to tell me your not sweet and innocent?" "Youll find out some day." Lark just stood where she was in shock thats what it had to be. Kathryn-Corrin slowly walked over to the stairs and placed her bags by the door. The docks were practically empty. No one was around it was almost dusk and Joe walked along the docks. He had too many memories of his past here, yet he was drawn there. It had been two years ago today that it had happened. He looked out at the water thinking about that sad afternoon. He sighed and walked away. He was walking towards the waft and he bumped into a girl. She was cursing to herself. "Im so sorry." Joe said as he looked at her and into her eyes. "Forget about it. I wasnt paying attention to where I was going." She stood up and adjusted her skirt. "Im Elizabeth Webber." "Im Joe " Before he could finish Elizabeth was off and on her merry way once again. "Im never ever going to understand girls."
A young woman walked into the Port Charles hotel. She was tall, had brown hair and gray eyes. She was thin but not too thin. She wore a sundress that reached her ankles. She looked around the lobby as though not sure she was in the right place. She took a deep breath and then released it as she walked up to the front desk. She rang the bell and waited for the clerk or who ever to show up. Finally after about three minutes the manager comes out. "May I help you miss?" "Yes, Im looking for Alexis Davis. Can you tell me where I can find her?" "She might be in her suite, room 129" "Thank you." "Your welcome." She got her bag and walked over to the elevator. As the doors opened she stepped on. Before the doors closed a woman yelled for someone to hold the doors. She quickly pressed the door open button and Alexis Davis walked on to the elevator. "Mother?" The girl asked as though she was four years old. "Madeline?" |
