She looked at him for a moment, "Let me get you a towel."

"No, no, I’m fine."

"But Lucky, you’re soaking wet. And you’re shaking like a leaf."

"No…. I’m scared."

Lucky walked and sat down beside her and they turned to face each other.

but you did so much for me. You let me in to love you, before the

incident, and after."

"No one I know would come through a rainstorm to see me." Nikolas said

He waited as the water boil and noticed how close Emily was. Before he

knew it, he found himself kissing her. When they pulled apart she said,

"Nikolas, I came because I realized something. About you. You and

Suddenly the phone rang and Nikolas reached for it without breaking his

eye contact with Emily.

"Hello?"

"Hello, is this Nikolas?"

"It’s Sarah…."

"Are you okay?"

"I’m stuck at the library and I… I need to get back home."

"They’re making all the people leave?"

"No, no…. I need to go home to stay with Liz. I hate leaving her alone

in an empty house. I wouldn’t have resorted in calling you, but you’re

the only person left."

"I’ll be there soon. And don’t worry, I’ll get you home."

"Thanks." She said softly.

They both hung up and Nikolas spoke, "That was Sarah."

"You have to go get her."

"Yeah…. Listen, you can stay if you’d like…."

"No, what I have to tell you won’t take long. I have to explain why I

kissed you just now."

"You don’t have to explain yourself Emily, not with me."

"But I want to. I kissed you because I hate what I’m going to do to

you."

"What you are going to do?" he said sitting down.

She sat down in front of him, "I love you Nikolas, I really do. And

there was a time when I though that you were the one. But you and

Sarah. And then you broke things off and we went away to save Liz and I

thought that maybe I had a chance. But we kissed and I knew you still

were hanging on to Sarah."

"But I’m not anymore. I love you."

"And Jason?"

"I don’t love him as a lover, but I know deep down inside I will. I

know that he’s the one for me."

"I know you do, and I’m sorry that I had to do this to you."

"No… no, I forced it upon you to make decision and you did. If you’ll

excuse me, I have to pick someone up. I’ll make sure you’re escorted

out." And with that Nikolas left the room, leaving Emily alone.

Elizabeth sat up in bed, she couldn’t sleep. She closed her eyes as out

"Uh huh." She said as Lucky kissed her forehead.

Liz stopped him and held his head in her hands,

Liz got out of bed and grabbed a raincoat. She quickly ran down the

steps and went out the front door. She ran all the way to the docks

near Kelly’s, a place Lucky took her to help her jog up memories, but

nothing happened, and nothing still did. She sat down on the bench as

the rain poured down on her. She closed her eyes and tried to

remember. She had to remember… it was the only way that she could

stay. She knew that if she remember everything, then she could stay and

be Lucky’s forever, but if she couldn’t then she would go. It wouldn’t

be fair for Lucky to stay with someone like her. He deserved someone

else. She shut her eyes again and thought harder, ‘Come on, think,

remember…. You have to remember…. Why can’t I remember….’

"Why can’t I remember?" she said out loud this time as tears fell down

her eyes, "I have to remember!"

"Elizabeth?" a voice called to her.

Jason. She ran up the stairs and knocked on his door. He opened it and

Sarah and Nikolas reached the Hardy house. Sarah went in and turned on

the lights,

"Liz? Lizzie? Are you here?"

"Is she home?" Nikolas asked.

A couple minutes later, Sarah came back down, "Nothing. No blood,

Nothing’s broken… her coat’s gone. She must be in night mode."

Sarah opened her eyes to find Nikolas still with her. Their bare skins

were still against each other and she suddenly felt that Nikolas was

crying.

"Nikolas, what’s wrong?"

"I made Emily choose between the two of us… me and Jason…. And she chose

him."

She pulled him up and let him rest his head on her bare chest. She

hands sat lightly on his stomach and she just let him cry. She softly

kissed his tears away, but stopped when she realized that he might not

have wanted that.

"No…. no…. don’t stop, please. Please…."

He turned his body so that their bodies fit perfectly and he kissed

her. They continued to do what they were doing before, but she knew

what was truly in his heart, and it was Emily. Only Emily.
