Chapter 16
Let's fast forward. Liz and Todd have gotten major close. Liz is this close
to telling him she loves him. Lucky and Denise have been doing the whole
friendship thing. Trust me they will never be more than friends. She has
been urging him to reconcile with Elizabeth seeing how his songs kind of suck
now. Liz invited Todd to Jax and Chole's wedding and she kept her promise by
painting them together. Lucky decided to play a couple of old songs at
Chole's wedding.
"So what song are you going to play?" Denise asked Lucky.
"I don't know something old."
"How about something new?"
"No way I know that you think I should sing that song but it's not ready and
and I just don't feel like it."
"Lucky listen to yourself you sound like your two."
"It's the mature side of me."
"Now come on Lucky let's think rationally Liz will totally know that the song
you wrote is about her and she'll be so touched that you guys will be best
friends again and I won't have to worry about you."
"So this is more of a I'm sick of the shopping in Port Charles thing for you."
"Basically. But there are the unselfish reasons too like you and Liz. I
worry about you out here all alone with no real friends. The way Emily
described it Liz was just the ticket."
"What if I don't want to take the plane?"
"Lucky every needs friends. I don't want you turning into a hermit."
"Let me think about it. I'm going to go take a walk."
"Okay well that's my cue to call Em and get some more dirt."
"Good at least you're honest and tell me about it."
"Liz did the same for you. Remember that Lucky." Denise said before Lucky
opened the door and left. He made his way down to the hotel lobby when he
recognized Todd with a petite brunette. He assumed it was Elizabeth and was
about to leave when he took a second glance (the title of my last story ha
ha) and he noticed that the woman wasn't Liz. He stood there shocked while
Todd didn't notice him.
"How about coming up to my room baby?" Todd asked the girl.
"And do what?" she asked.
"Stuff." Todd.
"Okay as long as it's fun stuff," she said while giggling.
Lucky just stood there in shock. Not moving an inch that is until Denise
came along.
"What are you still doing here?"
"Todd. Todd is cheating on her Denise."
"What are you talking about?"
"Todd, Elizabeth's boyfriend. He's cheating on her."
"Are you sure?"
"Positive."
"Then you've got to tell her Lucky she deserves to know."
"I don't even know there together for sure."
"Look Lucky she did you a favor by telling you about that witch Tonya and you
need to return it. Speaking of returning I need to return this dress I
bought but you need to tell Liz."
"I'll think about it."
"Lucky," she said in a motherly tone.
"Not now not today she wouldn't believe me. Later I promise."
Now what's Chole's plan? Let's find out. Fast forward to the day of the
wedding. Jax and Chole have already gotten married and Elizabeth and Lucky
never laid eyes on each other throughout the ceremony. Let's fast forward
some more to the reception.
Enter Lucky and Denise. Arm and arm. She convinced him to at least talk to
Liz again. Try something new.
"Don't worry she'll be here." Denise said.
"Who said I'm worried?"
"It's written all over your face Lucky I'm not a complete idiot. So what are
you singing today?"
"Total surprise."
"Please don't keep me in suspense."
"And if I need you to sing with me."
"You know I'll do it."
"Come on let's dance."
"Oh well your light on your feet tonight."
"Thanks. I just hope she-" Lucky then turned his head and his jaw dropped
to the floor. There Liz was walking into the ballroom wearing a silky red
dress with mini spaghetti straps and a little bow in the front.
"Clean up the drool Spencer." Denise said. "Who's the wannabe Abercrombie
and Fitch model with her."
"That would be Todd."
"I guess they're together."
"I'm happy for her. She could be with the one she loves."
Let's go to Liz's perspective. She's heard about Lucky and Tonya by the way.
Her heart was pounding outside of her chest. She could feel Lucky's piercing
blue eyes starring at her. She felt horrible after their talk at Kellys. He
challenged the way she thought and he challenged her talent. She missed
that. She looked back and saw he was with someone. She could be Cindy's
twin. Liz was so astounded but before she could go ask him about her Todd
swept her onto the dance floor.
"Come on babe this is my song." Todd said. She sort of half smiled and
looked back as Lucky looked on at her. Chole and Jax entered the room and a
crowd full of cheers emerged. Lucky lost Elizabeth's gaze as did Elizabeth
lose Lucky's.
"First off," Jax started, "we would like to thank everyone for coming today
and sharing this joyous day with us. God knows how long it took us to get
here. Special thanks to Elizabeth Webber for her artistic ability. That
portriat out in the hall is painted by her." everyone appluaded.
"Now away from the boring stuff it's time to rock with Lucky Spencer." Chole
chimmed in. Liz turned curiously to the stage as Lucky was setting up.
"I can't believe that guy had the nerve that stand up your portrait." Todd
said.
"He's not trying to do that Todd he's just trying to a favor for a friend."
"I know what he's doing is cooler than your art so he's trying to show you up
Lizziebeth."
"Whatever Todd."
Lucky decided to do a love song. A new one he was thinking of. He decided
doing it spontaneously might calm his nerves.
"How is everyone tonight?" He asked. They all cheered. "Well instead I
thought this is a wedding so instead of rocking how about having the bride
and groom come out and have their first dance as man and wife. This song is
dedicated to a very special lady. My best friend." Lucky said not looking
directly at Liz.
(This song actually came from Saved By the Bell: Wedding in Las Vegas.
Don't know who sings it or anything but I love it.)
offer me your hand
and I will give my heart
Chole and Jax glided across the floor dancing cheek to cheek. Lucky strummed
on his guitar lightly as he sang his heart out.
ask me for a sketch
and I'll paint a work of art
Liz smiled at this line in the song. She knew it was meant for her. She
giggled slightly and started stealing glances at Lucky. Emily noticed this
and gave Chole the thumbs up sign. Oh by the way don't think that's Chole's
plan.
and I know I can
when it's for you
Jax lifted Chole up into the air and she started to laugh. He noticed her
entire face lite up. Denise started to look Liz over. She looked like a
nice person and even though she disapproved about all of Lucky's choices she
thought Liz seemed like a person who would treat Lucky with care and change
him back to the old Lucky.
In the light of day
We all believe we can
Lucky finally glanced up and he almost stuttered. Liz was glancing up at him
while her boyfriend was giving him not so nice looks.
it's when were in the dark
that we need a helping hand
oooooo
Jax dipped Chole and as he brought her up his eyes twinkled. The kind of
twinkle that happens in a man's eye only when he's in love. Liz knew it. In
fact all the woman knew it. (We're trying to keep men ignorant here. No
offense.)
love is always there
when, it's for you
Lucky picked up his guitar and stood up. With his headset/microphone over
his face Lucky started to head out into the audience. All eyes were on him.
I can't help it
I can't hide it
it's what you bring out in me
cause you give me inspiration
He hit the high note perfectly and let it linger. He had gotten closer to
Elizabeth and Todd was checking out Carly and V at the time anyway so he
didn't notice. Denise was smiling her head off.
love beams too much when it's for you
He approached Liz during this line and kneeled down in front of her. She was
trying not to smile but she couldn't help it. Lucky then took her hand and
kissed it. The audience cheered and Chole took Jax aside.
"Could we talk?" she asked.
"Sure what about. I hope this isn't about a problem with us because let me
tell you I'm deleriously happy to have married the perfect woman."
"You are so entirely sweet." Chole said giving Jax and kiss. "Well no
problem with us if that's what your afriad of. I do however have a problem
with Lucky Spencer and Elizabeth Webber."
"The portrait? The song whatever it is I can fix it."
"Don't jump the gun on me quite yet. They've been having some friendship
problems lately and I was wondering if I could use our wedding to help fix
them."
"They need fixing? I didn't even know they were friends."
"Very short term friendship but they obviously are best friends."
"Whatever you want. I love you."
"Oh Jax your the best I love you too." Chole glowed as she jumped up and
down and hugged Jax
"Let's get back to the wedding."
Chole and Jax entered the room as everyone was eating their meals. She made
it a point to put Emily, Nikolas, Lucky, Denise, Liz, and Todd at the same
table. The talbes were in circles and Liz and Lucky got stuck sitting next
to each other. They both reached for the pepper at the same time.
"You take it." Lucky said.
"No you I don't really need it."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes I'm sure but thanks."
"Thank you." Lucky said while Liz turned her head back to Todd. Lucky
glanced back after he used the pepper they suddenly turned so as not to be
caught starring. Liz turned her head at that instant to look at him and then
lowered her eyes back to Todd.
Chole knocked her glass. "Attention everyone I have a surprise. Everyone
who knows Jax and me know that we love to do abnormal things. Well in Milan
I learned a tradition at weddings in which people's names are drawn from
within a hat one boys and one girls and then they dance together. It's as
simple as that. Now let's try this. Okay Emily Bowen Quartermaine and Alan
Quartermaine." The two got up and started to dance. Chole grabbed more and
more names out until she came to, "Elizabeth Webber and Lucky Spencer."
"May I have this dance?" Lucky asked getting up and extending his arm.
Suddenly the song changed to a slow one called All My Life that I saw in a
Baywatch episode. One with Billy Warlork, ironic.
Am I really here in your arms
Just like I dreamed it would be
Liz looked back and Todd was gone. She figured what the heck and put her arm
in Lucky's. She felt something and gasped but to low for Lucky to hear. She
threw her napkin on the table and got up.
I feel like were frozen in time
Your the only one I could see
He guided her to the dance floor and put his other arm around her waist as
they closed the gap between them.
Hey I've looked all my life for you
Now your here
Hey I've spent all my life with you
All my life
Lucky held her hand closer to his heart and closed his eyes. Elizabeth
slowly closed her eyes and leaned her head onto his shoulder.
And I never really knew how to love
I just hope somehow I see
Lucky started to hum a little into Elizabeth's ear. Her smile got wider and
wider. His breath sweetly tickled her ear.
I need a little help from above
send that angel down to me
They were floating on air. Emily glanced over and was so excited. Nikolas
just laughed at her excitement and pulled her onto the dance floor. Denise
went up to the DJ and asked him to turn off the voice on the song. She
wanted to give Lucky a present.
Hey I've looked all my life for you
Now your here
Hey I've spent all my life with you
All my life
She grabbed her good friend Ned from the audience who also was making it in
the music world. Oh by the way the DJ recognized her so that's why he let
her sing. Lucky eyes opened as soon as he heard Denise sing.
I never thought that I could feel love so tender
I never thought I could let those feelings show.
Now my heart is on my sleeve
and this love will never leave
I know I know ...
"Denise is doing wonderful Lucky." Liz said. finally lifting her head off of
his shoulder. He glanced back at her.
"Yeah she's great."
"I can't help but notice she looks a lot like Cindy."
"That's because she's her sister."
Hey I've looked all my life for you
And now your here (now your here)
Hey I've spent all my life with you
All my life
All my life
"Oh wow her sister. They could be twins."
"Denise is actually older."
"Denise as in D.D. Danner from the Lilith Fair."
"Yep that one and only. I helped start her career and she's always thanked
me for it. She's like my big sister."
"She's very talented."
Hey I've looked all my life for you
And now your here
Hey I've spent all my life with you
All my life
"Elizabeth looked I'm so sorry about what happened. If you didn't already
hear I dumped Tonya. I overheard her talking about taking advantage of me.
I should have trusted you but I'm an idiot. that song I wrote is about our
friendship."
"I did Lucky and I'm sorry too for saying those things I didn't mean them.
It's just the Elizabeth who speaks before she thinks."
"That's the reason I like you. Always keeping me on my toes."
"So um are you Denise going out?"
"Oh no she's like a sister that would be too strange for words. So are you
and Todd?"
"Yep we're together."
"Can I ask you a personal question?" Lucky said stepping closer.
"Go ahead. I might not answer it though." Liz said hesitently.
"Um do you love him?" Liz could feel Lucky's breath in her face.
Hey I've looked all my life for you
And now your here
Hey I've spent all my life with you
All my life.
"Do I love him?" she whispered.
"Yes." Lucky whispered back.
"What kind of a question is that?" Liz said stepping back a little.
"A yes or no question."
Liz found herself starring into Lucky's eyes. Suddenly the answer wasn't as
clear as she thought.
Chapter 17
"I-I'm not sure yet." Liz said stepping back out of Lucky's arms.
"So that's a no." Lucky said while Liz turned her back she turned back
around with her reply.
"But not a never. I can learn to love him."
"But are you happy with him?"
"Yes I'm happy. Look the song is over I don't feel very well I think I"m
going to leave."
"Wait do you need me to take you home?"
"No Todd will do that."
"Where is Todd?"
"I don't know I can't find him." Liz said searching for him. "I'd rather
walk tell Todd I didn't feel well."
"I can walk you home."
"It's not necessary."
"Liz leaving already." Chole said.
"Yeah I don't feel very well right now." Liz said.
"Such a shame. Hope you feel better." Chole said.
"Thanks. Good lucky Chole but with a love like yours and Jax you won't need
luck." Liz said.
"Where's Todd?" Chole asked.
"I'm not sure."
"Well someone should take you home. What about Lucky?" Chole asked.
"I can take you home." Lucky chimmed in.
"I can take care of myself I'm fine."
"Just do this for me I'd feel much better if he took you home" Chole begged.
"For you. Consider it a wedding present." Liz said. She hugged Chole good
bye and Lucky led her outside.
"Look you really don't have to walk me home I'll be fine."
"I'm not that much of a pig despite my recent behavior," said Lucky holding
his arm out for her. She smirked and took hold of his arm. "I'm glad your
letting me do this because I have something to tell you."
"What is it?"
"Um it's not easy to say."
"Lucky just tell me."
"Here let's sit on this bench." Lucky said while they sat down on the bench
on the docks.
"You're scaring me being all serious."
"I don't mean to I never ever would intentionally scare you."
"That's very sweet of you."
"Not really okay here it goes," Lucky started but before he could say
anything it started to rain. The sky was thundering and lightening flashed.
"What a sign." All Liz could do was laugh. "What's so funny?"
"The rain it just gets to me inside I get excited around it cause every time
that it ends I know there is going to be this beautiful rainbow after."
"I never would have thought you'd love rain."
"It's the best the way it trickles on my body I can feel it. It's like
someone up there is touching me.
(this song is just put in because I felt like it. It's from Girl Just Wanna
Have Fun it's not a porn it's just a really cute movie actually my fav!)
I've got a rising emotion
Spirit is lighting a fire.
"So what did you have to tell me."
"I forget."
"No you didn't."
"Seriously the way you look so happy I totally forgot."
I've got my body in motion
Gonna help a woman's desire.
Liz got up and Lucky followed her. "Lucky your really sweet paying attention
to what I say. I appreciate it. Todd sometimes doesn't do that and it's
nice to know somebody cares enough to. Don't get me wrong I know that he
loves me but I don't know."
I'm giving in to the sun giving into the magic of love and it's free and it's
free
I'm in love
I can love no other
I'm learning just how to break away.
"Elizabeth," Lucky said starring at her moving in closer, "um I remember
now
what I have to tell you."
"What?"
"It's about Todd."
"What about him?"
"He um he um he's your boyfriend right?"
"Of course."
"Exclusive?"
"Yes."
"I saw him the other day with another girl."
I'm in love now it's stronger than ever
I'm gonna reach for the sky.
No one can show me how but look at the stars I'm in love
"You've got to be mistaken."
"No I wish I was."
"Well you're wrong Lucky! Why should I believe you? Not like we've been on
the best terms lately!"
"Elizabeth when it counts I wouldn't lie to you. You're my best friend and I
can't stand to see you hurt."
"That is a lie Lucky right there. If you couldn't stand to see me hurt then
why hurt me. You hurt me the most."
"Elizabeth please don't cry about this."
"Why not? My best friend hates me and he tells me my boyfriend is cheating
on me. Either way I'm screwed out of something Lucky so you tell me again
that I shouldn't cry."
"So you believe me?"
"I don't know what to believe anymore. I need some time to think."
It's a feeling if you just take a chance you can fly
Flying so high
I'm in love
I'm in love with no other
I'm learning just how to break away.
"Elizabeth I love you please believe me."
"You love me?"
"You know like a friend or a sister. I've never cared or loved anyone else
more. Not Emily not Denise not anybody else. Please believe me."
"I don't know if I can."
I'm in love now it's stronger than ever
I'm taking hold of my life
No one can show me how but look at the stars I'm in love
I'm in love
I can love no other
Cause no one can show me how but look at the stars I'm in love
"Do you love me?"
"Of course what girl wouldn't love her best friend. Look Lucky I just can't
think straight right now so many things have been happening to me and I just
want them to stop. I just want to be normal."
"Your never going to be normal. You are so special you can't be just normal.
I know you need some time to think about this so how about I just finish
walking you home and you rest up."
"That sounds like a good idea. Somehow you know what I need."
"Because you make sure I hear it even if you don't say it out loud. How
about tomorrow we spend the day together just you and me. Please I know I'm
being selfish but right now I need you."
"No one ever has really needed me. Okay Lucky tomorrow pick me up around
10:00."
"In the morning. People are up at that time?"
"Shut-up smart alec."
"Actually the name is Lucky."
"Walk me home."
"As you wish."
Chapter 18
Lucky made it to Liz's house in a limo no less at 10:00 exactly. All
the
neighbors were looking around wondering who would be in that limo. Lucky
made sure to disguise himself well. He skipped (well manly skipped) up to
the door and rang the bell. He found himself face to face with Todd.
"What the hell are you doing here?" Todd asked.
"Elizabeth and I are spending the day together," Lucky said a
matter-o-factly. He shoved his way into Liz's house. "Elizabeth?
Elizabeth? Elizabeth are you okay?"
"Lucky I'm fine," Liz said coming down the stairs.
"Sorry I just-" Lucky started.
"It's fine. Todd was just about to leave," Liz stated.
"Why should I leave?" Todd asked while eating Liz's food.
"Because this is my house and I said so. Okay? Come on I'm going out today
but I promise tonight 7:00 will be ours," Liz said while giving him a smooch
on the lips.
"Do you need a ride Todd?" Lucky asked.
"No my car is here," Todd said.
"Great well then Liz's let's go," Lucky called pulling her towards him.
"Wait a second," Todd stated as he pulled Liz into a tight there is no way
she can breath at all type of kiss. Lucky just looked disgusted and Liz
wiped her mouth slightly and grabbed both boys hands out of her house. She
locked the door and bid Todd good bye and went on her merry way with Lucky.
That morning she explained the situation and he wasn't too happy about it.
She almost gave in but then she remembered what Lucky told her but he had to
be wrong after all Todd just gave her that amazing kiss.
"So what exactly is your limo doing in front of my house?" Liz asked.
"I owe you being treated like a princess for the day. Trust me you'll love
it."
"I don't know Lucky I'm not used to this."
"Trust me," he said extending his hand out to her. She smiled and took her.
He helped her into the limo and asked the driver to take him back to the PC
hotel.
"So my day treated as a princess is in your apartment?"
"Basically. Why would you like to go someplace else?"
"I wouldn't have it any other way. So what's with this princess for a day
thing?"
"Well you know Jax."
"Yeah what about him?"
"A long time ago he was engaged to this woman named Brenda."
"Brenda Barrett I remember her model with long gorgeous brown hair. Her car
went over a cliff Emily was devastated."
"Well it's almost Christmas now and Jax and I decided that on this day
December 22 that we would treat the girl we were with like a princess."
"Sounds far fetched."
"And everything that's happened up until now isn't. Well I have a surprise
for you back home so why don't you stop asking questions."
"I think I might," Liz said slyly "But then again I'm Elizabeth Webber and
I
never shut up."
"Very subtle Elizabeth."
"So I get this one wish."
"One."
"But don't genies work on three wishes."
"This one only works on one," Lucky said but then he took a look on Liz's
puppy dog face. "Fine break tradition with three wishes."
"Oh thank you thank you thank you. By the way did you find it amazing that
at Chole's wedding our names were chosen out of those hats?"
"You mean you saw Emily and Chole smiling like Cheshire cats, too?"
"Their grins were hard to miss. Those two are always up to something."
"Someday we must teach them a lesson."
"Remind me about that."
Just then the limo pulled up to PC hotel and opened the door for Lucky and
Liz. Lucky held onto her hand and led her up the stairs to his penthouse.
"The times we shared in this old place," Liz said.
"Those two days?" Lucky said playfully.
"Oh shut up it seems like an eternity since I've been here. I see you've
redecorated," Liz said pulling up one of Denise's bras laughing. "Is this
yours?"
"Very funny. It's Denise's she's staying with me as long as she stays in PC
but today she's out with Em doing more shopping."
"So we have the place to ourselves. Spencer don't try anything."
"Three wishes."
"Three. Hmm they better be good wishes. My number one wish is paint you."
"No way no one is painting me."
"Why you afraid it won't look like you?"
"I know it'll look like me but I'm not sitting for you."
"It's a wish you have to."
"Fine as long as you promise me to draw me non abstractly."
"Fine I promise. This'll be great I promise you."
Lucky drove Elizabeth to her art studio and they gathered up supplies. Liz
needed some raggedy clothes so she borrowed a large old shirt and sweats from
Lucky. He even topped it off with an old golf cap. "The picture of
perfection," he said to Liz after he adjusted her hat.
"Sit down." Liz bellowed as she playfully shoved him onto the couch. "Now
don't move." Lucky disobeyed and moved. "Hey artist to model you moved."
"Hey artist I'm no model."
"Just hold still." Liz persisted and she held some paint brushes in her
mouth. She thought for a second and then got to work. Furiously painting
while Lucky strummed on his guitar for new songs. After hours of work she
was able to produce a painting. "It's not perfect but it'll do for now."
"Let me see."
"I warned you." Liz turned her easel toward him and he gasped. "That bad
huh?"
"That good. I thought that sketch of Cindy was amazing but this is just
phenomenal." It was Lucky sitting on the bench at the docks watching a fresh
rainbow peek through the sky. "How did you remember every detail of the
docks?"
"So you like it?"
"This is the best artwork I've ever seen but this seems more like my wish
than yours."
"Painting is my life long wish."
"Can I keep this?"
"Sure be my guest. I could touch it up a bit but I figure I shouldn't take
up our entire day."
"It's perfect the way it is." Lucky said flashing a smile at her.
"Thank you," Liz said reluctantly smiling back.
"What's wrong?"
"I can't help but feeling guilty. I mean here I am doing what I love but I'm
here with you. I'm here basically saying that my boyfriend is a liar."
"I don't think your saying that. I think by being here your saying your
willing to give me a second chance to be your friend. No one here is judging
you wrongly. I never will again. I swear to you Elizabeth."
"I hate how you know exactly what to say to me at the right time. It's so
hard to argue."
"But we've had our fair share of fights."
"But that's when your impossible."
"Me? The impossible one?" Lucky said while Liz whirled herself towards the
door. She swerved back around and stared Lucky in the face. She raised her
eyebrows and fed him a to die for smile. "Maybe your right." She raised
them higher. "All right all right I'm impossible but you are too." Lucky
said.
"Okay, okay I know I am too. Which brings me to my next wish?"
"Me not being impossible for a day?"
"No not that. I was wondering if you and I could go pick up some Eli's ribs
and cheese fries It's time for lunch and I'm starving."
"I can't believe it's two o'clock. A girl who loves ribs ahh you go after my
heart. Now we could get someone to pick it up for us if you want?" Lucky
said putting his arm around Elizabeth.
"I'd rather lazy around today if that's okay."
"Hey it's your wish." Lucky picked up his cell phone and ordered the ribs.
He glanced at Liz while he was on hold. She was over on the couches watching
TV suddenly he was put off hold, "yes could I have some Liz's I-I um mean
ribs."
"Yes sir would you like them delivered?"
"Yes Port Charles Hotel penthouse #4. Thank you." When the person on the
phone realized it was THE Lucky Spencer he made him stay on the phone for
quite sometime. Finally Lucky hung up the phone and joined Liz on the couch.
"The ribs should be here soon."
"What took you so long on the phone?"
"They recognized my keen voice."
"Oh keen? We're back in the 50's now."
"Oh be quite. Is that really wish number two I mean I would make that a
freebie since I was doing that anyway."
"How about a part two to wish two?"
"Okay shoot."
"Watching movies with me while eating."
"Watching movies."
"How about an 80's marathon?"
"The 80's?"
"Come on the great movies like "The Breakfast Club," "Sixteen
Candles," and
my personal fav any John Cusak movie."
"You don't seem like the John Cusak type."
"I love the bruiting medium height dark hair soulful eyes type of guy."
"Soulful eyes."
"Like yours. Have you ever looked in the mirror?"
"According to you several times a day."
"Your eyes they just stand out from the rest of you." Liz started. She
brought her hand up to his cheek. "The glimmering blue the shines from them
astounds me. It's like you can look into your soul just by looking into your
eyes." Liz said rubbing his cheek. Lucky took the hand that was on his
cheek into his hand.
"I'll let you in on a little secret, they're only that way when you're
around." Lucky said leaning his forehead against hers. She laughed a little
and so did he. They were grinning earnestly when suddenly the grinning
stopped. Liz bit her lower lip while Lucky ran his hand through her hair.
They both tilted their heads and licked their lips. This was it
.
Chapter 19
This was it
.or was it? A knock entered at the door.
"You should get that," Elizabeth whispered.
"Yeah I should," Lucky whispered back. He let go of her face and answered
the door.
"Its him! Its him!" The delivery boy shouted. Lucky let him in and
two
rolls of pictures were shot. Elizabeth just laughed at the entire moment.
To her Lucky was just this guy this amazing normal guy but to this person he
was like God or something. After the photos were taken and greeting
exchanged he finally left.
"Finally some food!" Liz shouted as she ambushed Lucky for the food.
"No way not yet we have to write down a list of those movies to rent before
we can eat these."
"Okay Ill make it quick. The Breakfast Club, Weird
Science, and Say
Anything."
"Thats six hours and according to you I only get from 10:00 until 6:59.
Its already 2 Elizabeth."
"So youre going to get rid of me in about 4 hours and 59 minutes?"
"I dont want to but you have plans with Todd."
"Oh Todd I forgot. Plans can change Lucky all you have to do is say the
word."
"Elizabeth please stay."
"Oh nope thats three words."
"I know your teasing me."
"To the core. Now then Ill just take Say Anything."
"Okay," Lucky said as he made a call and his butler was getting the movie.
"Wish number two almost completed. Have number 3 in mind?"
"Yeah I do but we cant do it until later."
"Tell me."
"Its a surprise. Can you believe the heat wave here? Not an once of snow
yet."
"Just rain but then again rain is your favorite stuff-"
"Because of the rainbow that comes right after." Liz said while stepping
closer to Lucky. "Lucky," she whispered. He leaned it some but them she
took the bag of Elis right from under his nose. "Im starving
thanks." She
smiles as she digs into the bag only Lucky wont admit defeat. He chases her
across the room grabbing for the bag until he comes up from behind her and
lifts her off the floor. Liz giggled with delight with screams of "Put me
down! Put me down!" The laughter increases. She manages to get a fry out
of the bag and eats it. "I win."
"You realize Ill never admit defeat Elizabeth."
"One day you will
" Liz said while chewing on her lower lip. She smacked
her
lips together, "Can we eat now?"
"Since you spoiled it already," Lucky said.
"Good now I know youre not trying to starve me. I can trust you."
"Do you mean that?"
"I mean um with my dietary needs."
"Oh."
"Look Lucky odds are in your favor right now so lets not get all antsy and
disappointed sounding. Time is what I need."
"Time is what Im giving you."
"Good or else I wouldnt be very happy. And we wouldnt want me unhappy or
I
get cranky."
"Ive seen that."
"Oh you are the bad one. Come on lets eat!" Liz yelled as she grabbed
Lucky by the arm and made him sit down with her and eat. They both got
barbecue sauce all over their faces.
"You have sauce all over your face," Lucky said while laughing.
"Look whos talking. You look like you took a bath in rib sauce."
"A bath?"
"Yes a bath. Hey look outside its raining."
"It looks beautiful," Lucky said while looking at Elizabeth as she looked out
the window.
"Wish three."
"What?"
"I want wish three right now."
"Well I kind of need to know what wish three is."
"Wish three. Dance with me in the rain."
"Dance with you in rain. Yeah and then well catch pneumonia and freeze to
death."
"Please I mean it I want to dance in the rain with you."
"I would love nothing more than to dance with you Elizabeth Webber."
"Well come on Lucky Spencer."
They ran outside and found a quite corner to themselves. They splashed
around then Lucky took off his jacket and hung it on a stair railing.
"May I have this dance?"
"Yes you may sir," Liz said while grabbing his hand and bowing. They started
a little shaky at first but before you knew it Lucky started to spin
Elizabeth swinging her in and out of his arms. "You know this would be
better with music."
"Any requests?"
"I judge your taste."
"How about L is for the way you look at me?" Lucky started to sing. "O is
for the only one I see."
"Perfect."
"V is very very extraordinary. E is even more for anyone that you adore and
Love was made for me and you." Lucky sang. At the end he dipped Liz and her
eyes were glazed over with happiness.
"Bravo! Bravo Mr. Spencer." Liz said after Lucky dipped her back up. She
clapped her hands. Lucky saw his perfect opportunity and he splashed in a
giant puddle by Liz.
"Oh I know you just didnt do that!" Liz said with her hands on her hips.
"But I just did. What are you going to do about it?" Lucky asked as Liz
jumped in an even bigger puddle getting Lucky more than he got her.
"Now youre going to get it?"
"You cant get me any wetter than I already am."
"But I can get your dirty."
"You wouldnt dare."
"Would I?" Lucky had a chunk of mud behind he hand and he rubbed it into
Elizabeths head.
"This means war Spencer," as she flung some mud at him. Every inch of their
bodies was covered with mud as they slid across the ground trying to trip the
other. They were laughing incredibly hard and people began to walk by and
stare. They just laughed harder. Then Luckys cell phone went off.
"Time out one second," Lucky said. "Yes this is Lucky Spencer," Lucky
said
smiling at Liz. She smiled back.
"Lucky its me," Luckys manager Tony said.
"Tony man whats up?"
"You leave in two days for a new tour. The label heard your new tune and
they were quite impressed. I need you back here."
"But its going to be Christmas then."
"I dont care Lucky your coming back here. Whats wrong with you? Did
something happen there? Something that I need to be concerned about?"
"No Tony Im fine Ill be there."
"You better Lucky this is your future."
"Yeah okay thanks Tony." Lucky clicked his cell phone off.
"Hey whats wrong Lucky," Liz asked.
"Um nothing. Come on lets go back up."
"Okay are you sure your okay?"
"Yeah it was just my manager on the phone." Lucky said smiling weakly. He
took Lizs hand and they walked proudly into the PC Hotel wearing mud. Lucky
didnt want to tell Liz about having to leave. Not yet anyway. He felt he
was getting through to her and he couldnt take the chance now. The idea of
going on tour again exhilarated him, his dream was to come back into the game
and this was his chance.
They got many stares from people in the hall and they entered the elevator
that Luke and Laura were about to step out of.
"Well my son has been to a spa and this lovely lady must be my princess.
Well, well." Luke said pulling them into the elevator.
"Lucky why are you covered in mud?" Laura asked.
"To help exfoliate my skin." Lucky answered.
"We had a little mud fight," Liz said.
"Look like my Cowboy learned from Nikky after all. Treat a girl like a pig,"
Luke said.
"Oh Luke. Lets get you two cleaned up or youll catch cold," Laura
said
babying Lucky.
"I always knew you were a mamas boy Lucky," Liz whispered. He laughed and
poked her in the tummy. She slightly squealed and punched him back. Luke
and Laura just laughed at their son and princess. They reached the apartment
and Liz and Lucky went to their own showers. Luke went into Lucky's room
while Laura went into Liz's. Five minutes later they both came out suprised
to find Luke and Laura in their rooms.
"Laura I didn't know you were still here. It's great to see you. I haven't
seen you since that day in Lucky's apartment."
"Ahh the day my son was at your beckon call."
"That was pretty funny. For me anyway."
"Quite amusing to me and Luke too. You and Lucky seem to be getting closer."
"Yeah, I guess we're friends again."
"I know I haven't seen my son in a while and we rarely keep contact but I
invision him with a girl like you."
"What are you getting at?"
"I just think that you and my son have something special."
"He's my best friend and I just see myself able to talk to him."
"Same way with Luke and I."
"Laura I know what your hinting around about. Don't think because I'm 26 I
don't know what your saying."
"Elizabeth sit down. I think we need to talk."
To Luke and Lucky
"So Lucky Elizabeth huh?"
"What is that supposed to mean?"
"You are smittin' on my princess."
"Dad you need to get a thing called a life. I'm not smittin' or smot or
whatever on Elizabeth."
"And the reason why you spend so much time with her?"
"Because she's my friend. Emily is my friend and I go out with her
constantly but I don't see you all over me about that."
"That's because there's something extra with Elizabeth. Can't explain it for
the life of me Cowboy but the way you act your like Pinocchio coming to life
or something."
"Nice simile there dad. You know what I'm just going to give up on this
right now for the sake of an argument with you."
"You realize you'll never win because I'm right."
"Dream on. Come on we can't keep the ladies waiting."
Luke and Lucky entered the living room. Liz came out in Lucky's pajamas that
were way to big on her. She looked like she stepped out from the 80's.
"A little big on you?" Lucky asked.
"Maybe a little. So Luke and Laura what brings you by?" Liz asked as she
crossed the room and held onto Lucky's hand. Luke lovingly had his arm
around Laura's shoulder.
"Well checking up on our boy but we can see he's in good hands." Luke
answered.
"A girl who can kicks my son's behind like you can certainly protect him."
Laura said.
"Hey, hey I protect her sometimes too." Lucky replied.
"Whatever you say hon." Liz said slapping his face a bit.
"We've gotta book it have a hot date with my wife. We'll call you later
Cowboy and princess stop by you look like you need a drink." Luke said
leading Laura and him out the door.
"How do you think they always manage to come at an awkward time?" Lucky asked
pulling Liz down on the couch.
"I think they have perfect timing." Liz answered palyfully punching Lucky.
"Hey you know I was thinking something. I totally forgot tomorrow is
Christmas Eve! I have to do something with your place here it's so
anit-Christmas looking-"
"Wait, wait Elizabeth I have to tell you something."
"Come on we should put up some lights and of course you need a tree and
ornaments."
"Elizabeth wait."
"Please let me do this Lucky. I promise to make it fabulous."
"Elizabeth-"
"Pretty please with sugar on top with extra whip cream and a cherry too."
"How can anyone say no to a cherry."
"Thank you thank you! You won't regret this!" Liz said hugging him. Lucky
tightly held her back. He had to tell her about the tour sometime. Just
then the movie arrived and just as the opening credits rolled around Liz was
fast asleep in Lucky's arms. Lucky gave her a kiss on the forehead and dozed
off. Both of them were so content in their dreams in each other they didn't
notice the phone ringing off the hook throughout the night.
