When We Meet Again

By: Kat

It was New Years Eve 2008. Emily Spencer looked out the plane window. She was returning to Port Charles. It had been 5 years since she and her husband, make that ex-husband Lucky had divorced. After returning home and finding him and Elizabeth Webber in bed together was devastating to her. She and Lucky had reconnected so well that cold December night over 10 years ago and then 5 years later it was destroyed. She could still remember what it had been like to return to surprise her husband a day early and found him in bed with some one else. Her mind filled with memories as she looked back over at her 4-year-old daughter, Madison. Madison had light brown, wavy hair, brown eyes and the highest of spirits.

Emily: (thinking) Just like a Spencer.

Emily clears her mind and then hears the Flight attenedant telling them they will be arriving in Port Charles in about 20 minutes. Emily leans over and makes sure that everything is set with madison and then with herself.

Emily: (thinking) Oh is Luckying going to react. I left town after I signed the papers, before I found out about Madison. I never wrote, I never called, anyone in Port Charles. It helped when AJ and Jason both left town. I just pray I can handle this.

As the plane lands Madison puts her hands over her ears.

Emily: I’m so sorry baby, I know it hurts.

Emily rubs Madison’s back as the plane finshes landing. As she gathers there things she see’s a familer face on the plane walking by. She immediately calls his name.

Emily: Sly?

The man turns around. His blond hair and dark eyes pierce through Emily’s body and soul.

Man: Emily?

Emily: It is you. I thought you were living in California?

Sly: I was, I got a job at GH so I’m moving back to Port Charles. What are you doing back. I heard you wouldn’t step foot in Port Charles again after the Lucky and Liz thing.

Emily: Well I realized that Madison needs to know her family and my family needs to know Madison and of her.

Sly: Is she…

Emily: Yeah.

Sly, Emily and Madison walk off the plane. As they walk through the terminal they hear someone calling Sly’s name. They turn and see Lucky wlaking over to them. Emily leans in and whipspers something to Sly and he nods.

Sly: Lucky my main man. I would like you to meet my Fiance, Emma Willard and herdaughter Madison.

Madison: Mommy, Mommy.

Emily: Not now hon.

Madison keeps trying to get her mother to acknowledge the fact that this strange man just lied to someother strange man.

Lucky: It’s nice to meet you Emma, and what’s yout name?

Madison: Madison Monica-Paige-Laura Spencer.

Madison looks at her mother with pride. Happy that she remebered her full name.

Lucky: Spencer?

He looks at Emily and his eyes widen at the realization that the woman standing infront of him is his wife.

Lucky: Emily?

Emily looks down at Madison and then back up at Lucky.

Emily: Hello Lucky. I was waiting to see if you would fall for the old rutine. You know Sly and I did that all the time senior year.

Sly: Yeah, those were the days.

Lucky: Emily, I’m so elated to see you.

Emily looks at him. She’s unsure of why he would be so Elated to see his ex-wife.

Emily: If you will excuse me and my daughter I have to get back to the house. Come along Madison.

Emily takes Madison’s hand and they walk away leaving Lucky and Sly alone in the terminal. After Emily get’s her luggage and get’s the rental car she and Madison drive the half-hour ride to Port Charles. Madison is contently looking out the window when she unexplectly say’s something that shocks Emily.

Madison: Why did you and that strange man lie to daddy?

Emily: Wh..what?

Madison: Why did you lie to daddy?

Emily: Madison, who do you think your father is?

Madison: They man that came running up to us in the airport.

Madison sinks into her seat and sighs. Emily tries to keep an eye on the road and try and see what is going on in her daughters mind. She pulls down charles street and drives past the Spencer house. She see’s the christmas lights from the tree through the window. There is a snowman in the front yard. As Emily drive though the town she is flooded with memories of her and Lucky. She thinks back to the day they meet in Kelly’s, and when they were on the run, that cold December night, when Lucky declared his love for her, when they graduated from High school, the night he proposed, the night they got married, and then Emily thought of the day when she walked into her bedroom to find Lucky an Elizabeth making love. She then thinks of when she signed the divorce papers and left before she saw lucky sign them and of when she found out that she would have Madison. Emily breaks the memories as she turns down the street and pulls into the the Quartermaine Driveway. She passes the gatehouse and she can see the ligthts and she can see Ned and Alexis through the window. As she reaches the Mainhouse she takes a deep breath and sighs.

Emily: Madison were here.

Madison: Where is here?

Emily: Port Charles, remember I told you this is where your grandparents live.

Madison: oh yeah.

Emily and Madison get out of the car. Emily gets there bags from the trunk and as they walk up the steps Emily thinks of turning back and not facing this part of her life again. Emily knocks on the door and Reginald opens it.

Reginald: Emily?

Emily: Hello Reginald, where is everyone.

Emily and Madison walking to the foyer and Madison’s eyes widen and her Jaw drops.

Reginald: Everyone is in the Den.

Madison begins to pull on her mothers pants. Emily looks at her daughter and smiles.

Emily: Reginald I would like you to meet my daughter, Madison Monica-Paige-Laura Spencer.

Reginald: It’s an honor.

Reginald shakes Madison’s hand and she giggles. Emily takes Madison’s hand and they walk to the Den. Madison let’s go of Emily’s hand and runs towards the open door. Emily tries to catch up with her daughter but Madison is full of energy after the long flight. As Madison enters the room everyone is fighting as usual. Then AJ sees Madison and shuts his mouth then Monica and Alan follow. Leaving Edward alone in the argument. As Edwards begins to go on and on yet again he looks down and sees Madison.

Edward: Now as for…Who the Devil are you?

Madison looks up at Edward her eyes wide. She then yells louder then Edward ever could.

Madison: MY NAME IS MADISON MONICA-PAIGE-LAURA SPENCER!!!

Edward grabs the chair and then Madison calms down and speaks again.

Madison: I bet you’re my Great-grandfather Edward.

Everyone looks at Madison and then Emily walks in and knows something is wrong.

Emily: Hello everyone.

Everyone turns and there jaws drop. Monica walks over to her daughter and hugs her.

Monica: Emily, I’m so happy your home.

Madison runs over to Emily.

Madison: Mommy, Mommy, Mommy.

Emily: Madison, what did you do?

Madison: I told everyone my name.

Emily: Oh really and why is Great-grandfather speechless?

Madison: I think I scared him when I yelled.

Emily: Madison what have I told you about yelling?

Madison: Not o but, everyone else was.

Emily: Does anything ever change mom?

Monica: Something’s do and others don’t.

Emily: Madison, this is your grandmother Monica. Monica this is your granddaughter Madison.

Madison looks at Emily and then at Monica. Madison runs to Monica and hugs her. As Monica and Madison hug Reginald walks in.

Reginald: Mr. Spencer is here to see Emily.

Emily bites her lip and sighs.

Emily: Just send him in.

Emily looks at her mother and daughter and Reginald leaves to get Lucky. Lucky walks in and walks straight over to Emily. He begins to yell and his voice echoes through the house. His voice gets raspy as he try’s to understand what is going on with his wife.

Lucky: EMILY, HOW COULD YOU LEAVE ME AND NOT TELL ME ABOUT MY CHILD!! I LOVE YOU DAMN IT! WHY WOULD YOU LEAVE ME!

Emily: Lucky in the other room NOW!

Lucky and Emily leave the Den and the Quartermaine family behind. As they walk into the living room. Emily closes the door behind her.

Emily: Lucky Spencer what the HELL is wrong with you? You come into my mothers house ranting and raving about nonsense. I mean last time I checked we were divorced.

Lucky: That means you haven’t checked. Were not divorced.

Emily: What? I signed the divorced papers. How the hell can we not be divorced.

Lucky looks at Emily and smiles.

Lucky: I never signed the papers.

Emily: You bastard! How could you do this to me! To Madison!

Lucky: So she is my daughter?

Emily: I never cheated on you.

Tears fill Emily’s eyes as she looks at him.

Lucky: You know why that happened.

Emily: Lucky, you betrayed me. I gave you my heart and soul for so many years. I thought we would be there for each other every stretch of the way. You saved my life from Helena Cassadine. Can you truly tell me that this is how you planned our future.

Lucky walks over to her. He tries to hug her but he can’t, she won’t let him.

Emily: Just go.

Lucky stands to leave and as he walks out the door. Emily thinks to herself.

Emily: (thinking) Damn it Lucky! I never stopped loving you. Please don’t ask me to do this.

Emily sits down on the couch and begins to cry. The door is still open and AJ walks by. He can hear Emily crying.

AJ: Emily what’s wrong?

Emily: AJ, Lucky and I are still married. He never signed the papers.

AJ: What? Do you still love him?

Emily: AJ I never stopped. It’s not something you just turn off.

AJ: Em, I know that. But he cheated on you.

Emily: AJ, Lucky and I have always had that connection and when I saw him again. I just wanted to kiss him. I want to be with him again, I want him to be there when Madison starts school and when she hit’s her first homerun, her first dance recital, her first date, her prom, her wedding. Out wedding aniversary. AJ I need him in my life and I want him back. I just don’t think that it will work.

Emily looks up and sees that Lucky is standing at the door.

Emily: Lucky?

Her voice is low and shaking. Lucky walks over to her and takes her hand in his.

Lucky: Emily, allow me to prove myself to you again.

Emily: Lucky, please don’t do this to me.

Lucky: Emily, I love you with all my heart, you know it’s true.

Emily: How can I?

Lucky: By letting me prove it to you and to Madison.

Emily: How can I when I’m afraid of everything that is happening between us and everything that has happened. I came back here only because I thought we were divorced and that I could handle seeing you with someone else. But when I get here you tell me you never signed the papers and that you and I are still married. Lucky how in the world am I suppose to go on like this? Tell me.

Lucky looks at her and wipes away a tear that is falling from her eyes.

Lucky: You let me prove myself to you. Let me take you to the Emerald and Ruby ball tonight.

Emily: What’s that?

Lucky: It’s a fundraiser that Nikolas and I run.

Emily: You and Nikolas put together a ball? Please tell me you had help from Lucy Coe.

Lucky: Nope. This is the fourth year. Come on please. Please. Please. I won’t leave until you say yes.

Emily: Well I’m sorry to disappoint you but I am not going to say yes to your invitation.

Lucky: Please. Please. Please. Please. Please. Please.

Emily looks at him and rolls her eyes knowing that if she doesn’t give in now he’ll go on and on for the rest of the afternoon and most of the evening.

Emily: Okay. Spencer I’ll go with you. One question. What am I going to wear?

Lucky: Let me take care of that. I’m sure my sister would love to baby-sit Madison tonight.

Lucky backs out of the room leaving Emily speechless. Emily looks over at AJ.

Emily: Did Lucky just use that Spencer charm of his on me and I fell for it?

AJ: Looks like it.

Emily: Wonderful. I’ve got a date with my ex-husband. No wait. My Husband because he never signed the divorce papers. Ugh!

Emily walks out of the living room and over to the stairs. Meanwhile Lucky Spencer is in his car driving towards his parent’s house. As he slows the car down in front of the house. He looks at the house and remembers the night he proposed to Emily on the front porch. He remembers that her hair is up and she’s wearing a ball gown. It was after the nurses’ ball and Lucky sits down next to her. He runs a hand though his hair, takes a deep breath and takes a black velvet box.

Lucky: Emily.

Emily: Yes.

Lucky: Emily, will you do me the extreme honor and ma…ma…marry me?

Emily looks at Lucky, her eyes are wide with joy and happiness. She pulls Lucky towards her and hugs him.

Emily: Of course I’ll marry you Lucky.

Lucky: This is so wonderful Em!

Lucky and Emily Hug and then Kiss. Lucky shakes his head and brings himself back to reality. He steps out of the car and into the slushy snow in front of the Spencer home. He knocks on the door and Leslie Lu answers the door.

Leslie Lu: Lucky what do you want?

Lucky: I was wondering if I could get in the house for one.

Leslie Lu moves out of the way allowing her older brother in.

Leslie Lu: So what does the great Lucky Spencer want from the rest of the family?

Lucky: Okay if you don’t want to baby sit your niece tonight then you’re out of the cash.

Leslie Lu: Lucky you’re losing it. I don’t have a niece remember Jessica-Anne lost he and Nikolas’s baby.

Lucky: Leslie Lu, you would be baby sitting my daughter Madison.

Leslie Lu looks at her brother. She rolls her eyes and then turns towards the stairs.

Leslie Lu: Mom! I think Lucky needs to make an appointment with Either Dr. Baldwin or Kevin Collins.

Laura comes down the stairs.

Laura: Leslie Lu what on earth are you talking about?

Leslie Lu: Mom The nutcase here comes in the house and asks me if I want to baby-sit for my Niece. I kindly reminded him that Jessica-Anne miscarried. Then he says it would be for his daughter Madison. Last time I checked he didn’t have a daughter!

Leslie Lu begins to storm off. She then turns around and yells.

Leslie Lu: Lucas Lorenzo Spencer Jr. I’ll call the loony bin and you can have a padded cell next to Brenda Barrett.

Laura: Leslie Lulu Spencer!

It was to late Leslie Lu had already gone to the kitchen. Laura turned towards her son.

Laura: Lucky, Honey are you feeling okay? You haven’t caught that nasty flu have you.

Lucky looks at his mother. He smiles and then sighs as he walks over to the couch and sits down.

Lucky: Mom she’s back?

Laura: whose back?

Lucky: Mother!

Laura: Who?

Lucky: Emily!

Laura: What?

Lucky: She’s back. I saw her today. She brought our daughter with her.

Laura: What daughter?

Lucky: the one she never told me about because she thought we were divorced.

Laura: Your able to forgive her for this?

Lucky: I have to. I can’t let Madison grow up with out her father. I’ve seen what that can do to a child.

Laura: So you think that Emily is going to forgive you and just run back to your arms?

Lucky: She’s going to the ball with me tonight. That’s why I wanted Lu to baby-sit for Madison.

Laura: Lucky, are you sure you can handle this if Emily decides not to get back together with you?

Lucky: Mom, She’ll come back to me. Our Love is to strong and true for her not to.

Lucky stands and walks towards the door. Before he leaves he turns to his mother.

Lucky: Don’t worry. Bye.

Laura: Bye.

Lucky leaves.

Laura: I hope he can get through this.

Lucky walks down the steps and back to the car. As he drives back home to his apartment. As he’s driving the radio in his car plays.

Lucky stopped the car and got out. He walked through the snow. He walked up the steps and opened the door to the Hallway. As he walked towards his apartment he couldn’t help feel saddened by the realization that he had just found out about his four-year-old daughter today. He unlocked the door and walked inside. He turned on the light and saw that there was a message on his machine. He pressed play.

Machine: Lucky, It’s me Emily. Listen Reginald said he would watch Madison tonight. But I still don’t have anything to wear so what am I suppose to do show up naked? Call me.

Lucky smiles as he walks over to the closet and takes out a long Red and Green ball gown.

Lucky: She’ll finally wear it tonight.

Lucky lays the dress on the bed. He goes back over to the closet and takes out his tuxedo. He lays that on the bed and then he walks over to the phone and dailies a number.

Lucky: Emily? Hi…..Yeah I have your dress…. Come on over to the apartment…Yeah..okay..Bye.

She hung up before he could finish his statement.

Lucky: I love you.

Lucky sighs and walks back over to the bed. He sits down and opens the drawer of the nightstand. He takes out a black velvet box and opens it. Inside are a Diamond engagement ring and a gold wedding band.

Lucky: By the end of the night she’ll be wearing them again.

About an hour later some one angrily knocks at Lucky’s door. He walks over and opens it expecting to see a gun pointed at his face. Instead he sees Elizabeth Webber.

Lucky: Liz?

Elizabeth: Who did you expect, Emily?

Lucky: Actually I did expect to see my wife.

Elizabeth: You’ve got that flu don’t you.

Lucky: Why does everyone keep asking me that?

Elizabeth: Because Emily caught you and me together in bed doing stuff.

Lucky: Don’t remind me. Emily is gonna be here soon so what do you want?

Elizabeth: What do I always want?

Lucky: NO! I’m not telling you anything about Nikolas the two of you are through He’s married to Jessica-Anne now.

Elizabeth: Please, Please, Please?

Lucky: No. You gotta leave. Emily is gonna be here soon.

Elizabeth: Okay, I’m leaving.

Lucky: Good Bye.

Lucky pushes Elizabeth out of the apartment. A few minutes later there is another knock at the door. Lucky opens the door and sees Emily standing there.

Lucky: You’re here, great. Come in I’ll get your dress.

Emily: Hello to you to.

Emily walks into the apartment and is flooded with memories.

Emily: So where is it?

Lucky: In the bedroom on the bed.

Emily: Okay.

Emily walks to the bedroom and she opens the door and turns on the light. She sees the gown lying on the bed and her eyes fill with tears. It had been the one she saw in the store window in Rochester only days before everything happened. Emily wiped her eyes and opened her bag. She took her make up and hair clips out. She put her hair up in a French twist. She then applied her make-up. Then as she was putting on her dress Lucky walked in.

Emily: Spencer! What the Hell are you doing?

Lucky: Sorry Quartermaine-SPENCER.

Emily shot Lucky a look as she finished dressing. As she tried to zip up her dress she realized she couldn’t pull it up all by herself.

Emily: Spencer, I could use a little help.

Lucky: Of course Quartermaine-SPENCER.

Emily: Why do you keep doing that. I only go by Spencer not Quartermaine.

Lucky: Oh really?

Emily: Yes, you want to see my driver’s license?

Lucky: Yeah.

As soon as Lucky finishes zipping up her dress Emily goes to get her purse. Lucky waits in the Bedroom and decides to get dressed. As Emily walks in she finds him pulling up his pants.

Emily: Oh my God! I had no idea. I’m so sorry.

Lucky: Em, it nothing you haven’t seen before.

Emily: Well I know that. It’s been a few years.

Emily is defiantly nervous and afraid of what is happening to her and Lucky. She hasn’t felt this way in over 10 years. Emily walks backwards and leans against the wall. She thinks of that December night when he was throwing pebbles at her window, how they had re-connected that night. Her heart sank as she realized that, they needed another December night like the last.

Lucky: Em, what’s wrong.

He had broken her train of thought. She wasn’t sure if it was a good thing or a bad thing.

Emily: I was just thinking of a December night about Oh 10 years ago.

Lucky: The night we reconnected. The night I was protecting you from Helena Cassadine.

Emily: Wonderful job you did. I got shot on the docks remember.

Lucky: How could I forget. I was afraid you were going to die.

Emily: Really?

Lucky: Yeah. There have only been a few times when I’ve hurt like that?

Emily: When?

Lucky: Then, when that snake could have bitten you in the cave, and when you left. Each time I either lost you or almost lost you. I have felt like I’m missing a part of me everyday your not here with me and every night you and I aren’t in that bed.

Emily turns away from lucky feeling her eyes fill with tears.

Emily: Lucky stop. Don’t you think it killed me to walk into this very apartment and see you having Sex with Elizabeth Webber? Lucky, when I found out about Madison I really wanted to come back here but I was afraid of being told it was a tactic to keep my husband. I stayed away for five years. My heart broke every night that you weren’t there to hold me.

Lucky: Emily I hated doing that to you. Please forgive me.

Lucky gets down on one knee and takes out the rings from his pocket.

Lucky: Emily, will you please come back to me and be my wife again?

Emily looks at Lucky. Her eyes filling with tears again.

Emily: Let me think about it please.

Lucky: Okay.

Emily could tell he was disappointed. Emily began to leave the room.

Emily: Hurry up and get dressed we don’t want to miss the Ball now do me.

She smiled at him and left him in the room. Lucky finished getting dressed. He and Emily left the apartment and went to the Ball. As they entered the room as one of the first to arrive Lucky Saw Jessica-Anne Cassadine running towards him. She wore a Red dress and her hair was up in a odd design. She was taller then Emily and had red hair.

Jessica-Anne: Lucky! Thank God you are here.

Lucky: Why?

Jessica-Anne: Nikolas is in the kitchen with the caterers and they keep telling him that every thing cost’s more then the discussed price. Will you please go save my husband before someone gets killed.

Lucky: Of course but first there is someone I would like you to meet my wife. Emily Quartermaine-Spencer. Emily this is Jessica-Anne Cassadine. Nikolas’s wife.

Lucky leaves them alone. Emily stands there and Jessica-Anne looks at her.

Jessica-Anne: Are you THE Emily?

Emily: If you mean the Emily that walked into the bedroom and found her husband sleeping with Elizabeth Webber. Then that would be me.

Jessica-Anne: That’s the only one I can think of.

Jessica-Anne looks up and Sees Elizabeth walk through the door with Jerry Jacks.

Jessica-Anne: Slut alert.

Emily: What?

Jessica-Anne: Look over there.

Jessica-Anne points to the door.

Emily: I see. Please don’t let her near me. I have a feeling words will fly.

Jessica-Anne: I know She and I have gotten into quite a few Catfights over Nikolas. She keeps trying to steal him from me.

Emily: She seems to have a thing for the son’s of Laura Spencer.

Jessica-Anne: I think were going to get along.

Emily: I think your right.

Jessica-Anne and Emily continue to talk. A few moments later Nikolas and Lucky walk out from the kitchen. They walk over to Jessica-Anne and Emily. Lucky hadn’t told Nikolas that Emily was back. Nikolas walked up to his wife.

Nikolas: Hello JA, Hi Emily.

Nikolas looks at his wife and then his eyes widen.

Nikolas: Emily? Is that you?

Emily: Yeah, I’m back.

Nikolas: Are you and Lucky together?

Emily: Kinda.

Nikolas: Oh any chance?

Emily looked at Lucky.

Emily: Spencer, let’s dance.

Lucky leads Emily on to the Dance floor. There are many nameless couples on the floor. Nikolas goes over to the band and asks them to play a specific song. As the first song ends the Band leader begins to play Eternal flame originally recorded by the Bangles in the 1980’s. It had been playing on the radio when they danced together 10 years ago on New Years eve.

Emily: Lucky, It’s out song.

Lucky: I know. I play it all the time.

Emily: So do I. Madison knows all the words by heart.

Lucky: I would love to hear her sing. Have you given any thought to what I asked you before?

Emily: Yeah I have. I’m gonna tell you at Mid-night.

Lucky: You made up your mind but I have to wait.

Emily: Yeah.

Lucky resists the urge to pull her closer and to kiss her. They continue to dance. After they eat dinner they dance for the rest of the evening. Then at mid-night Lucky leads Emily off the dance floor and next to the stage.

Lucky: So what’s your answer.

Emily: Okay you really want to know?

Lucky: Yes.

Emily pulls Lucky towards her and kisses him. She then breaks the kiss apart and Lucky stumbles as he tries to not to fall over.

Lucky: Was that a Yes?

Emily: Yeah it was. Lucky Spencer don’t you know I am truly madly and deeply in love with you.

Lucky: Yes. I’ve been in love with you forever.

Emily: Let’s go home.

Lucky: Okay.

Lucky and Emily leave the ball and go back to the apartment. When they get to the apartment they sat down on the couch. They looked into each other’s eyes. Emily’s heart beat quickly. She hadn’t been this nervous since her wedding night. Emily moved closer to Lucky. He put his arms around her and just held her as she laid her head on his chest. They fell asleep like that. The next morning when they woke up both were happy. The both took showers and got dressed. As they ate breakfast someone knocked at the door. Lucky went to answer it and as he opened the door Madison ran into the room. He opened the door wider and saw AJ behind her. Emily walked in from the kitchen.

Emily: Madison, what are you doing here?

Madison: I wanted to see you and Daddy.

Lucky: She knows.

Emily: She figured it out herself.

Lucky: Smart kid.

Emily: Well look at her parents.

Madison grabs hold of Lucky’s leg. He tries to walk over to the couch and sit down.

Lucky: Hey Madison.

Madison: Hey Daddy! Am I going to see Grandma and Grandpa today?

Lucky: If you want to we can go see them.

Madison: Really?!

Lucky: Yeah. Em, you want to see my parents?

Emily: They won’t kill me will they?

Lucky: They shouldn’t as long as were happy.

About an hour later Emily, Madison and Lucky are at Luke and Laura’s. Luke is in the living room with Nikolas, Sonny, Jason, Joe, Matt, and Frank watching the football game. The tree walk in and Madison hides behind her father allowing only her hands to be seen. Luke walks over to them.

Luke: Emily?

Emily: Hello Luke.

He hugs Emily and he looks down at the floor and sees Madison.

Luke: Now who is this Pretty thing?

Madison takes in a deep breath of air and loudly states her name.

Madison: I’m Madison Monica-Paige-Laura Spencer. Who are you?

Luke: She’s a Spencer all right. I’m Luke. I’m your Gr..Gr..Grandfather.

Luke looks at Lucky.

Luke: Madison, would you like to watch the game with us?

Madison: Yes,

Luke takes Madison over to the rest of the guys and introduces her. Emily and Lucky go to the Kitchen and find Laura. She’s sitting at the table with Lesley Lu reading a magazine.

Emily: Hello.

Laura and Leslie look up.

Laura: Emily, you’re here. With Lucky.

Emily: Yeah. Were back together.

Laura: Really?

Emily: yes.

Laura: Is Madison with you?

Lucky: She’s watching the game with Dad and the guys.

Laura: I can’t wait to meet my grand daughter.

The back door opens and Karen, Julie, Jessica-Anne, Brenda, Carly and Robin walk in. They look over and see Emily. Robin, Brenda and Carly rush over to her.

After a few hours Lucky and Emily return to the apartment. Madison was staying with Luke and Laura. Emily and Lucky were alone in their bedroom.

Emily: Lucky?

Lucky: Yeah.

Emily: Come here.

Lucky sits down on the bed next to Emily. She kisses him and the fall back on the bed. Lucky run his hands through her hair as she holds on to his back.

Emily: Make love to me Lucky.

Lucky: Are you sure?

Emily: I’ve never been surer about anything before in my life.

Lucky and Emily make love. Afterwards Lucky holds Emily close to him afraid he’ll wake up and everything had just been a dream. Emily stirs and then lucky holds her tighter. Then he hears her murmuring something.

Emily: The other guy was you.

Lucky: What?

Lucky then realizes she’s talking in her sleep and he closes his eyes. The next morning Emily wakes up and just looks at Lucky. After a while he wakes up.

Lucky: Morning Sunshine.

Emily: Morning love.

Lucky: Have any good dreams?

Emily: Yeah, one where we were 16 or 17 and we had that conversation about who we had liked and I said the other guy was you.

Lucky: So that’s what you were mumbling about.

Emily: I don’t mumble.

Lucky: Yes you do.

Emily: No I don’t.

Lucky pulls Emily towards him and they kiss. After a few magical moments they break apart.

Emily: I love you.

Lucky: I love you to.

Three months later Emily walks into Karen’s office.

Karen: Emily, please sit down.

Emily: So what do the test results say? I don’t have cancer do I?

Karen: It’s not cancer. In fact it’s something good.

Emily: What could be good about vomiting every morning, having no energy…

Karen: Your pregnant.

Emily: I should have known.

Karen: Can graduations.

Emily: I have to get home and tell Lucky. Bye Karen.

Karen: Bye Emily.

Emily leaves Karen’s office and walks through the halls of the hospital. She gets on the elevator and then as she turns around she sees Elizabeth standing there. Emily ignores her and tries to think happy thoughts.

Elizabeth: Emily, hello how are you?

Emily: Is there something I can do for you Elizabeth?

Elizabeth: Forgive for what I did to you and Lucky.

Emily: I’ll get back to you.

The elevator stops and Emily gets off and walks away. Later that evening Emily finishes setting the table. She lights the candles and waits for Lucky to come in the door. A few minutes later he walks in. She can sense he’s tense about something.

Emily: Is something wrong?

Lucky: The committee wants Jackie Davis to help with the ball next year.

Emily: Oh. I made dinner.

Lucky: Emily, what’s with the romance. Is there something you have to tell me.

Emily: Perhaps.

Lucky: Well?

Emily: sit down I’ll get dinner.

Emily goes into the kitchen and returns with two plates of food.

Emily: Here we go.

Lucky: What is this, baby corn, tatter tots, Baby back ribs. What’s this suppose to mean?

Emily: In six months give or take a few days Madison is going to be a big sister.

Lucky’s eyes widen with the realization.

Lucky: Your pregnant?

Emily: Yeah.

Lucky walks over to her and they hug.

Lucky: I love you.

Emily: I love you to.

Lucky pulls Emily towards him and they kiss passionately. The revel in the joy of the love between them.
