| Chapter 8: Lucky rolls over and his first thought is, that it was only a dream. That he and Emily hadn’t kissed last night, that he wasn’t as convinced as hell she was in love with him. Then he saw the cranberry ribbon on his night stand. Lucky: We’ll be together Em, please just let that happen. There’s a knock at his door. Lucky: Come in. The door opens and Leigh and Lulu come in. Leigh is dressed in a pair of black leggings and a Christmas sweater, covered in Candy Canes, Santa’s, and Snowflakes. Lulu is wearing a pair of jeans and a red turtle neck. Lulu: Lucky get up! Get dressed! Leigh: Come one Spencer! It’s Christmas morning, get your derri�re out of bed and get dressed. Lucky: Oh no! She’s starting in the French again! Leigh: Well then I’ll just rit et rit all day long. Lucky: Okay I’m getting up. What’s the big hurry? Lulu: You’ll see. Leigh and Lulu suddenly leave the room. Lucky gets up and showers and dresses. As Lucky walks down the stairs he can hear Leigh, Lulu, his parents and Aunts and Uncles. Lucky: What’s all the noise about? Luke: This. Lucky walks over to his father and sees he’s holding a card. Lucky takes the card and quickly opens it. Dearest Lucky- You are my heart, my soul, and my joy. Your everything to me. For the past few day’s you’ve been trying to get me to admit something I’ve long ago hidden. I Emily Quartermaine Declare on the 25th of December 2003 that I am in love with Lucky Spencer. I have been since that day I meet you and Sly in Kelly’s. Love -Emily Lucky folds the card and places it back in the envelope. Lucky: I have to go find someone. Lucky runs to the door and Leigh runs after him. He grabs his coat and goes outside. She follows him. Leigh: Spencer! Lucky: Yeah. Leigh: What happened!? Lucky: Emily. Lucky runs off. ~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~ Nikolas looks at Elizabeth sleeping next to him. His fingers lightly touching her soft skin. He starts to plant kisses along her shoulder trying to wake her. There’s a knock at the bedroom door. Nikolas slips out from under the covers and quickly wraps his silk robe around him. He opens the door and finds Emily on the other side. He quickly steps outside and closes the door. Nikolas: Emily! Honey what are you doing here? I thought I wouldn’t see you until this evening. Emily: We need to talk. Nikolas: Can’t this wait? Emily: No it can’t. She pushes Nikolas out of the way and opens the door to his bedroom. She sees a now awake Elizabeth sitting up. Emily: (turns to Nikolas) Babe you just made this so much easier. Nikolas: What? Your confusing me Emily. Emily: (removes the engagement ring) It’s over. You don’t love me and I sure as hell don’t love you. Nikolas: What brought all this on? Emily: Turquoise. Nikolas: Emily let me explain this thing with Liz. Emily: It’s not just that your sleeping with Liz day’s before our wedding which truthfully is disturbing but it’s the fact that I DON’T love you. I never have. I’ve only loved one man from the moment we meet. Nikolas: Who? Emily: (calmly) Lucky. Nikolas: LUCKY!? Emily: Yes, Lucky. I have to go. Nikolas: You’re my fianc�! Emily: Yeah like that means anything to you! Your screwing around with Elizabeth! How long has that been going on? A month, 6 months, a year, since before we started dating? No one told me Lucky throws some pebbles at Emily’s window. Hoping she’s there.

Did it have something to do with the card. Leigh: Mrs. Spencer, I think Emily finally told Lucky what he wanted to hear. Laura: Oh no…. Lulu: Daddy!! Do you think it could be? Luke: Most certainly. Laura: Luke! Luke: Darlin, your going to have to deal with the fact that Emily fell for Lucky and not Nikolas. Laura: Yes but, Nikolas will be ever so hurt. Luke: (looking out the window) Oh I don’t think so. Laura: Why? Luke: He’s got his tongue shoved down Liz’s throat. Laura: WHAT!? Laura gets up and runs to the door she opens it and she sees Elizabeth and Nikolas on the Path doing exactly what Luke said. The kitchen door opens and Lucky and Emily walk in. They go into the Living room and see Laura standing at the door. Lucky: What’s going on? Everyone turns to face him and Emily except for Laura. Lulu: Are you and Emily together yet?! Lucky: Almost. Emily: Almost? Lucky gets down on one knee and takes out a diamond ring, the setting is platinum not gold. Lucky: Emily Quartermaine, will you marry me? Emily: (tears building in her eyes) Yes! Lucky puts the ring on Emily’s finger and Laura finally turns around. Laura: What just happened? Luke: Emily and Lucky are getting married. Laura: Oh…. Laura faints. The End |
