Note:In this story,neither Liz,Carly,nor Juan exist.Lucky is living in the garage apartment,but just because he wants his independence,as he doesn't know yet about Luke & Laura's past...history.Also,Emliy now lives with Jason.

Chapter 1:


Emily slipped into the garage.She knocked softly on Lucky's door.

Lucky:(groggily)Hang on a sec...comin'...

Emily had to fight to keep her chin from dropping at the way he answered the door...He was clad only in a pair of boxer-briefs,and his bare,muscled chest was affecting her thinking...

Lucky:(concerned)Em?Somethin' wrong?
Emily:Wrong?Um,no...I just...I couldn't sleep.Sorry for waking you.
Lucky:(shrugs)S'ok.I'm up now.

Lucky shut the door and sat down on the bed.She sat next to him,and crossed her long legs.Man,when did they get so...Geez!He shouldn't be thinking this way about his best friend!It was wrong...besides,Jason was a good bud,too.But,Lucky knew he wouldn't take it too kindly to anyone thinking certain things about her...

Emily:Lucky?You there?
Lucky:(gives himself a mental shake)Um,yeah...What?
Emily:(laughs a little)Nothing,really...You're still asleep...I should go.
Lucky:No!
Emily:(looks at him,surprised)Why not?
Lucky:Um...This is no neighborhood for you to be hailing a cab this late at night.I refuse to put my best friend in danger.
Emily:Lucky...
Lucky:Look,I'm too tired to drive ya...Why don't you just stay here?
Emily:(shrugs)Okay.

Lucky tosses her one of his button-up shirts,and she goes to the bathroom to change.

Emily:(shyly)Okay.All ready.
Lucky:Okay.(climbs under the covers)Hop in,and cut off that lamp,will ya?
Emliy:Hmm?
Lucky:Em,don't get shy on me now...How long have we been best buds?
Emily:Okay.

Emily slides under the covers,and is surprised when she feels Lucky's arm wrap around her waist.She is even more surprised at her reaction.

Emily:(thinking)Stop it,Em!This is your best friend ever since you were 10!He wouldn't think like this about you,and you shouldn't think like this about him!

Lucky nuzzeled the back of her neck drowsily.He inhaled the faint scent of her coconut shampoo.He had to work a bit to keep his reaction in check when she leaned back further towards him.

Lucky:(thinking)Just remember,friend or not,Jason would kill you dead!

Chapter 2:


Jason had been on watch at the docks all night.Sonny had just buzzed him on the cellphone to meet over at the penthouse for coffee.He wanted to hold a meeting.At this moment,all Jason wanted to do was sleep,but...Sonny made it sound important.When he entered Sonny's penthouse apartment,he saw that Luke was there as well.

Jason:(wearily)What's up?
Luke:Cassadines.
Jason:Oh...

He should've know time he saw Luke...lately the man'd been obsessing.

Luke:Vlad's got somethin' up his sleeve...
Sonny:How can we help?
Luke:Well,ya know...Maybe we should let the Cowboy in on this one...he'd be a help.
Jason:Okay...well,let's go ahead to the garage and get him.

Since it was about 7:00AM,Lucky & Emily were still asleep.Somehow in the night,the covers had been all kicked to the foot of the bed,but,they were still basically in the same position they were before they went to sleep.

Luke:(pulling the knob)(muttering under his breath)Oughta learn to lock his door in a neighborhood like this.

All 3 men entered,and looked in shock at the sight before them...

Chapter 3:


Luke tore his shocked gaze from the bed to flick a worried glance towards Jason.Jason's eyes were like 2 flaming pools of ice.His face was almost purple with rage.He seemed,fortunately,though,glued to the spot for the moment.

Jason:(furious)WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!

Lucky and Emily woke up then,as if nothing was unnatural.Then,they saw the looks on the faces of the men before them.

Emily:(confused)What's wrong?Did something happen?
Jason:DID SOMETHING HAPPEN?!YOU ASK ME IF SOMETHING HAPPENED?!

Emily shoots Lucky a confused look.

Lucky:Ahh...Jason,man,this ain't what it looks like.
Luke:(quickly)I thought so---
Jason:(deadly cold,through clenched teeth)Then,what is it?
Lucky:Um...Well,Em was here last night,and we were talkin'...and it got late,and I was too tired to drive...It's dangerous for her to hail a cab that time of night...So I asked her to crash...I've only got one bed is why---
Jason:(holds up his hand)Uh,nevermind.I'm sorry...(looks at Emily)Nothing happend,huh?
Emily:(appalled)Jason!How could you think that?
Jason:Sorry...you just nearly gave me a heart-attack,that's all.
Emily:(surpresses a grin)Sorry...Well,I,um,better get dressed.

Without waiting for an answer,she rushes to the small bathroom.Jason grabs a pair of jeans and tosses them to Lucky.

Jason:Ya couldn't've kept 'em on?

Lucky merely shrugs & slides on his pants.Fortunately,by then,Emily had come out.

Jason:You know what?You can fill me in later...I'm dead on my feet.
Sonny:Oh,yeah...Sorry.(explaining to Luke)He had midnight watch.
Luke:Oh...
Jason:Em,c'mon.Let's go.
Emily:Okay.Bye.
Lucky:See ya.

Chapter 4:


The next morning,it was as if nothing had happened.Jason and Lucky were working along in the garage,still friends.Neither felt the need to bring up the previous morning.

Jason:I tell ya about that guy I'm thinking of hiring?
Lucky:The one you're only giving a trial basis?
Jason:Yeah...he starts today...(glances at his watch)In fact,he oughta be here any minute now.

As if on cue,a guy around his mid-thirties shows up in the door.

Lou:Mr. Morgan?
Jason:Oh,hey,Lou...This is Lucky Spencer.Lucky,this is Lou Consten.
Lucky:Hey.
Lou:Hello.
Jason:Okay...you get started on that bike over there,and Lucky and I are gonna go next door and hang with Mike for a bit.
Lou:Okay.

Jason and Lucky go next door to Mike's bar,"The Recovery Room",not noticing that Jason left his jacket.

Lou gets to work on the bike.After a few minutes,he notices a young girl come in.

Emily:Jason?Lucky?
Lou:Um,they should be back any minute.
Emily:(startled)Who're you?
Lou:Uh,Lou Consten.And,you are?
Emily:Emily Quartermaine.

Lou offers his hand for a shake,and she takes it.He looks longingly at her,and she begins to feel uncomfortable under his scrutiny.

Emily:Um...do you know where they went?

Meanwhile,inside the bar...

Jason:Man...I forgot my jacket;my wallet's in there...You mind gettin' it for me?
Lucky:Sure,no problem.

Lou:(quietly)You sure are pretty.
Emily:Um...

She felt a bit like a childish for the way she was feeling then,but the way he was looking at her was really starting to freak her out.She didn't really look at him,but stood in front of the table,with her hands laid on the top,hoping he'd get the hint.No such luck.She stiffened in shock when she felt his hand reach out and caress her behind...

Emily:(slaps his hand away)What do you think you're doing?!
Lou:(grinning)Well---

He couldn't finnish his answer,for suddenly he was face-to-fist with a very angry Lucky Spencer!

Chapter 5:


Lucky hit him so hard,he took the table with him as he fell onto the ground with a large clatter!

Lucky:(standing over him,seething)Touch her again,and I'll kill you!

Jason and Mike had heard the noise,and rushed inside to see what was up.They had come in just in time to hear Lucky make his threat.

Jason:What's going on?(he notices that Emily is trembling)Emily?Are you okay?
Emily:Yeah...um,Jase...He...he grabbed me and---
Jason:WHAT?!

Lucky nods angerily.

Jason:Would you mind taking Emily to your place?Lou and I have a few things to...discuss.

Emily looks worried,but Lucky just puts his arm around her and leads her upstairs.

Jason:(coldly)That was my kid sister.
Lou:(gulps)It was?
Jason:(same cold tone)Yes,my 16-year-old baby sister.

Meanwhile,upstairs,Emily is pacing.

Emily:What did I just do?
Lucky:Huh?
Emily:I think I've just signed some guys death-certificate!
Lucky:(emphatically)Well,then,he deserves it!
Emily:(shocked)Lucky!
Lucky:What?
Emily:Maybe I shouldn't've told...
Lucky:(concerned)Em...this isn't your fault...whatever happens to that guy down there,it's his doing.Okay?

Emily nods a little.

Lucky:(puts a comforting arm around her shoulders)Look...if you hadn't told,I would've.At least you don't keep things like this from Jason.
Emily:Nah...we kinda got a deal that way.
Lucky:See...it's okay...

Jason hits Lou again and again.He falls down,but Jason just hefts him back up by the shirt.Finally,Jason leaves him on the ground.

Jason:(evenly)If you ever come near my little sister again,you'll be dead before you hit the ground.I'm giving you 5 minutes to clear out of here.

With that,he heads upstairs.

Chapter 6:


Emily & Lucky jumped up expectantly as Jason came in.

Jason:(looks at Emily carefully)Are you really okay?
Emily:Yes,I'm fine.
Jason:(sighs in relief)Good...
Emily:Is he...
Jason:(placing a calming hand on the back of her neck)I,um...drove my point across,but...he got to walk out of here...I fired him.

Emily sighed in relief.

Emily:I know this probably sounds bad,but...I'm kinda glad...he creeped me out.
Jason:Yeah,well...he won't ever come near you again.

Lou Consten gathered his things and stiffly headed for his truck."They'll pay for this",he vowed.Morgan would pay for his humiliation...he'd have her,at least once...One way or another...

Chapter 7:


Lucky paced Luke's office like a caged tiger.Luke was not sure what was on his son's mind,but he waited patiently for him to volunteer the information.His eyes narrowed slightly as Lucky explained the "incident" at the garage,but he was not prepared for Lucky's next question.

Lucky:Ya think Jason'll be too mad if I ask her out?
Luke:(starts choking on his coffee)What?!
Lucky:Well...I would like to ask her out.You know...like a real date.
Luke:Son,do you remember his reaction to seeing the two of you yesterday?
Lucky:That was different;he's over it.
Luke:(logically)He's over it because nothin' happened!
Lucky:Well...I figure maybe if I ask him before I ask her,he won't be mad.Maybe he'll respect me for it?
Luke:(flatly)I wouldn't count on it.
Lucky:(quietly)Well,I gotta try.
Luke:(concerned)You may need,um,witnesses.
Lucky:(smiles weakly)Nah...I think he'll respect it more if I go alone.
Luke:(smiles proudly at his son)Okay...your funeral.

Chapter 8:


Lucky took a deep breath and decended into the garage.He was only semi-relieved to find Jason alone,working on a motercycle.

Lucky:(clears his throat)Uh...Jason?
Jason:(glances up)Oh,hey...
Lucky:Can I...um...talk to you about something?

Jason looked at his friend in concern and laid down his wrench.

Jason:(standing up & wiping his hands on his coveralls)Yeah,sure.What's wrong?
Lucky:(jamming his hands in his pockets)Well,nothing really...Actually,there kinda is...
Jason:(starts rubbing his forehead)Lucky,what's going on?Just tell me;you're starting to give me a headache.
Lucky:Well...I need to ask a favor?
Jason:Name it.
Lucky:I want to take Emily out.
Jason:(shrugs)You take her places all the time;why would you need to ask me?
Lucky:No...like a real date.
Jason:Excuse me?
Lucky:Well...I...lately...

He saw the stony glare forming over Jason's features,and knew it wouldn't be advisable to say "Lately I've noticed how really hot she is!"...

Lucky:Look...I just...I really like her.
Jason:(sighs)Of course you do;you guys have been best buds like forever.
Lucky:Yeah,but...I've started looking at her slightly differently now.

Jason shoots him a "look".

Lucky:In a respectful way...
Jason:(voice little more than a growl)Was this before or after I found her sleeping in your bed?
Lucky:Nothing happened;we explained---
Jason:That is not what I asked you!
Lucky:I think before...I'm not really sure when it happened...

Jason is suddenly struck by the memory of the image that had disturbed him the previous morning.

Jason:(shaking his head emphatically)No.No way.
Lucky:Come on,man...You know you can trust---
Jason:You're still a guy,aren't you?

Lucky could not deny this,so he said nothing.

Jason:(sighs heavily)Look...I'll talk this over with Emily...and I'll consider it.
Lucky:(shocked)Really?
Jason:Yeah...but,if I decide yes,we are definately going to set some ground rules before you go!
Lucky:Um...okay...
Jason:Good.I'll see ya later...I gotta go...

Jason leaves Lucky to stare at his retreating form in shock.

Chapter 9:


Lucky walked up to Kelly's in a sort of daze.He stopped short when he saw Johnny helping Emily with several shopping bags at a table.

Lucky:Em?
Emily:(waving him over)Hey,Lucky!
Lucky:Hey,Johnny.
Johnny:Hi,Lucky.
Lucky:Can I talk to you?
Emily:Sure...Um,Johnny?Can you wait a little bit for me?
Johnny:Sure thing,Miss Emily.

Emily and Lucky walk off towards the docks.

Lucky:So...you've been shopping a while?
Emily:Yeah,past 3 or 4 hours...Why?
Lucky:No reason.

Silently,in his head,he was glad,because it meant she hadn't spoken with Jason yet...This was something he should tell her himself.

Lucky:Emily?
Emily:Yes?
Lucky:Would you go out with me?Like,on an actual date?
Emily:(eyes widening)Like,couples do or something?
Lucky:Yes...something like that.
Emily:(softly)I'd love to.
Lucky:Really?
Emily:Yeah.
Lucky:Well...you'd better go talk to Jason,then...I asked him,and he said---
Emily:(incredulously)Wait a minute...you asked my brother's permission to ask me out?
Lucky:(grins)Would you prefer he beat the holy hell out of me?
Emily:(she supresses the urge to laugh)What did he say?
Lucky:That he'd think about it.He wanted to talk to you before he considered it,though.
Emily:Okay...I'll talk with him,but...don't worry;he almost never says no to me!

Chapter 10:


Lou came out of the shadows as Lucky walked Emily back to where Johnny was waiting.

Lou:(takes a long drag of his cigarette)You won't be with your boyfriend every minute,little girl.Just wait...

Sonny looked at Jason in concern.This was Jason's third beer in 20 minutes,and he looked as though he were trying to suck the label off from the inside.

Sonny:Jason?Something on your mind?
Jason:Well...no,not really.
Sonny:You sure?
Jason:(sighs)Well...Lucky and Em.
Sonny:I thought they explained---
Jason:No;he wants to ask her out.
Sonny:Oh...
Jason:I don't know,I mean...after what happend yesterday...accident or not...I feel weird about it.
Sonny:Well,that's understandable.
Emily:(coming in)Did you ask how I feel?
Jason:Oh,hey.
Emily:Hi...I talked to Lucky.
Jason:I gathered.
Emily:Well?
Jason:"Well",what?
Emily:Tell him it's okay?
Jason:I...
Emily:C'mon,Jase...it's Lucky...(grinning wickedly)Would you prefer I went out with that Nikolas Cassadine guy?He's asked me before,ya know.

She rushes out to the hall,and drags Lucky back into the apartment with her.

Jason:(sighs)All right...sit down.Em?
Emily:Huh?
Jason:You wanna go next door with Sonny for a bit?
Emily:Well---
Sonny:Yeah,good idea.C'mon,kiddo.

Emily follows Sonny out the door.

It had been awkard,to say the least...Jason had laid out rules like there was no tomorrow,which was strange for him...He didn't ususally hold much with a lot of rules...But,somehow,Lucky'd convinced him to let him take Emily to "Jake's",to see LeAnn Rhimes in concert.Lucky thought his eyes'd pop out when he saw Emily decend the stairs in the halter-top with matching mini-skirt and hairband.She looked...Which was probably why Jason had lent her his leather jacket.

Emily:This is so awsome!
Lucky:Yeah?
Emily:Yeah...I love concerts!
Lucky:Yeah,me too.

The lights dimmed,and LeAnn came onstage.

Lucky:Wanna dance?
Emily:Really?
Lucky:Yeah.
Emily:Okay.

3 weeks had gone by since that first date...3 of the most glorious weeks of Emily's life.It was almost like just the natural order of things...like everything had fallen into place,finally.She just went into Lucky's apartment;he usually didn't bother to lock the door.She sat on the bed to wait for him,and could hear the sounds of him singing an old James Taylor song in the shower.

Lucky:Do me wrong.Do me right.Tell me lies,but hold me tight.Save your goodbyes for the mornin' light.But,don't let me be lonely tonight.Say goodbye,and say hello.Sho 'nuff good to see you,but it's time to go.Don't say yes,but,please,don't say no.I don't want to be lonely tonight...

She sighed and leaned back on his pillows.He had such a beautiful voice...

She sat up straighter as she heard the water being turned off,and footsteps as he stepped out of the shower.Lucky came out of the bathroom clad only in a towel,beads of water still glistening on his perfect chest...

Lucky:Oh...hi...
Emily:Hey.

Instead of being embarrassed,as Emliy thought he'd be,Lucky merely sat down on the bed next to her.

Lucky:Come here.
Emliy:What?
Lucky:I haven't gotten my hello kiss yet.
Emily:Oh...

She happily complied,and gave him a passionate kiss.Lucky swooped her down in his arms,laying her on her back on the bed,him on top of her.She rubbed her hands all up and down his back,and he moved his lips down to kiss her neck.He moved back up slightly,to capture her mouth again,running his hands across her bare rib-cage(she was wearing a halter-top).She tangled her hands in his hair,as he sucked gently on her neck.Suddenly,the door swung open...

Chapter 13:


Luke:Ahem.

Emily jumped up out from under Lucky,causing him to roll a bit,and have to clutch at his towel.

Lucky:(through gritted teeth)Don't you ever knock?
Emily:(cheeks on fire)Uh...I should go...
Lucky:You don't have to...
Emily:Yes.Yes,I do.Bye,Luke.See ya,Lucky.
Luke:Bye,sweetheart.

Lucky just stared,as Emily dashed out of the door.

Lucky:Well,you were right about one thing.
Luke:Oh?
Lucky:I really should learn to lock my door.

When Emily got to the penthouse,she was relieved to find herself alone.Especially since when she looked in the hallway mirror,she saw a small,pink,beginning of a hickey.

Emily:Oh,boy...

She rushed to the kitchen to get ice before anyone noticed it.

Luke:Sorry...

Lucky shrugs.

Luke:Um...uh...
Lucky:(smirking)G'head.Ask it.
Luke:Ask what?
Lucky:No,Dad...we haven't...yet.
Luke:(breathes a sigh of relief)Oh...that's good...
Lucky:Why?
Luke:Huh?
Lucky:Why is that good?
Luke:(stammering)Well...um...because.
Lucky:Because?
Luke:(annoyed)Because you're kids.
Lucky:(under his breath)Not if you'd've waited an hour...
Luke:Lucky...
Lucky:Look,Dad...what do you care?
Luke:(shrugs)Well...I ain't old enough to be a grandpa yet.
Lucky:I don't want kids yet.
Luke:Well,were you...um,prepared?
Lucky:(annoyed)Look,just...just here.I've gotta get dressed.

With that,he stalked into the bathroom.

Chapter 14:


Luke walked into the club with a decidedly sour look on his face.

Sonny:Somethin' wrong?
Luke:Uh,yeah,you could say that.Jason...there's somethin' we need to talk about...

Lucky picks up the phone & dials the penthouse...

Emily:Hello?
Lucky:Hey,beautiful.
Emily:Hey...
Lucky:Sorry about earlier...
Emily:Just as well...you almost gave me a hickey!
Lucky:Oh...
Emily:I don't mind,though.
Lucky:No?
Emily:Um-ummm...

Just then,Lucky heard an insistant knocking on his door...

Lucky:Um,Emily?
Emily:Yeah?
Lucky:I gotta go...Somebody's at the door.
Emily:Okay...
Lucky:Bye...Love ya.
Emily:I love you,too....

Lucky hangs up the phone,and goes to the door.

Lucky:I'm comin';keep your pants on!

Suddenly,he saw a stony-faced Jason at the door...

Jason:Isn't that what I should be telling you?

Lucky:Excuse me?
Jason:(pointedly)I had an...interesting...talk with your dad.
Lucky:Oh...Look,Jason,man...we haven't---
Jason:Were you planning to?
Lucky:(taken aback)What?
Jason:If Luke hadn't come in?Huh?
Lucky:Look,Jase---
Jason:No,you look!You will respect my little sister,and not push her into something she's not ready for!
Lucky:I do respect Emily!I wouldn't force her or anything.

Lucky realized right then that he'd chosen the wrong thing to say...

Jason:Damn straight,you won't!I...I don't think this is such a good idea anymore.
Lucky:What?!
Jason:I gotta go.

Jason stalks out and slams the door.He also slammed the door to the penthouse upon entering,a few minutes later.

Jason:Emily?
Emily:(emerging from the kitchen)Hey,Jason.What's up?
Jason:Sit down...We gotta talk.
Emily:Oh...

She complies nervously.He looks so serious,it's almost scary...

Jason:I just came from Lucky's...
Emily:Oh?
Jason:Yeah...after I'd talked to Luke.
Emily:(apprehensively)You...you did?
Jason:Relax...I didn't hit him or anything...

Emily sighs in relief.

Jason:I do want to talk about this,though.
Emily:Okay.
Jason:Things seem to be moving too fast here...
Emily:Jason,we haven't---
Jason:(holds up his hand)I know...But...I just think the 2 of you are spending too much time together.You could use some time apart.
Emily:WHAT?!
Jason:Calm down a sec...let me finnish...I'm not telling you to break it off...
Emily:No?
Jason:No...Just...take a break,maybe?
Emily:(hotly)Have you considered what I want?Or,what Lucky wants?
Jason:I am thinking about what Lucky wants...that's why I'm suggesting the break!
Emily:I'm 16 years old!I am perfectly capable of making my own decisions!
Jason:Really?
Emily:Yes!I don't know when I'll ever be ready for...that...but,it's my decision!
Jason:Really?
Emily:Unless you wanna invest in a chasity belt,you don't ultimately have any say,no offense.

Chapter 16:


Jason looked at his baby sister in shock.She had never spoken to him this way before.

Emily:Jason,I love him!And,he loves me!
Jason:(rubbing his eyes)You're giving me a headache,Em.
Emily:Sorry.
Jason:Okay,okay...we should,um...talk about...
Emily:What?Talk about what?
Jason:Uh...did Monica ever tell you about birth control?
Emily:I moved in with you when I was 13.Why would she?
Jason:Oh,yeah...(sighs heavily)Okay...do you have any...uh...questions?

Emily surpressed a smile at her brother's contiuingly reddening face.

Emily:What kind of questions?
Jason:Emily...
Emily:Okay,okay...sorry...I always figured it was kinda just left to the guy...

Jason shook his head and sighed....

After a short,but painful(for Jason)discussion,Emily called Lucky and asked him to meet her in the park to talk.

Lucky:Hey,beautiful.
Emily:Hello yourself,handsome...

They go to the bench to sit and talk...

Emily:(sighs)I hope your "talk" with Jason didn't go too badly...
Lucky:(jokingly)Well,obviously not...I'm still alive!
Emily:(smiling softly)I guess it is something we should discuss...
Lucky:Okay...

After a while,they decided maybe it'd be best to wait a bit...

Emily snuggled back into Lucky's arms,and he wrapped his arms around her waist.

Lucky:(dropping a kiss on her neck)I do love you.
Emily:(contentedly)Mmmm.I love you,too.

Lucky leans his head down,and they start kissing...

Lucky:(relunctantly pulling back)Um...you wanna just go back to my place?
Emily:Sure.

They hop up,and walk over there,hand in hand...Unfortuantely,they were unaware of the fact that Nikolas Cassadine was in the shadows...

Chapter 17:


Nikolas strolled into Luke's office,where Jason & Luke were going over the books,with a decided smirk on his face.

Nikolas:Hello,Luke.
Luke:(sarcastically)Well,lookee here,Jase...It's Prince Nikki-boy!
Nikolas:I'm going to ignore that...since I am here to help.
Luke:Are ya now?
Nikolas:Yeah...you really should teach Lucky not to be so obvious.
Luke:(through clenched teeth)About what?
Nikolas:Well...in the park,he was all over his girl,then he mentioned something about heading to his place---

Before Nikolas could utter another word,Luke and Jason had rushed out of the office...

Lucky and Emily sat down on Lucky's bed and began kissing.She wrapped her arms around his neck,and they ended back up laying down.Their kisses became more urgent,insistant...He began sliding his hands up her side again,then,one hand tenatively went under her shirt.She moaned contentedly...

Lucky:Oh...we,um...we can't...
Emily:Don't stop.Come on...take me...

Lucky bent back down and kissed her again.Suddenly,the door was kicked open!

Chapter 18:


Jason:GET OFF MY SISTER!!!

Lucky jumps up as if on fire,and Luke steps in front of him,not wanting to take any unnecessary risks.

Jason:Come on;we're going.
Emily:But...
Jason:I'm not in the mood for arugments!

He slings her over his shoulder and carries her out.

Emily:Jason!What's wrong with you?
Jason:(sets her down)Just get on the bike,huh?

Lucky:Uh,are you guys gonna keep doin' that?
Luke:You're lucky I came with him!
Lucky:Well...Geez,this sucks!
Luke:He'll come around.
Lucky:Yeah,I hope so...

At the penthouse,Emily and Jason were having a real screaming match.This was really unusual,because they didn't really tend to loose their tempers with each other.Also,Jason tended to avoid fighting with anyone...

Emily:(tears streaming down her face)Stick me in a convent why don't ya?
Jason:Will you stop overreacting?
Emily:I'm overreacting?!You're the one who...Oh,forget it!Don't worry;I'll probably stay a virgin forever now!

She rushed out of the apartment,still heavily crying.Jason started to go after her,but thought better of it,figuring they both could use some time to cool off...

She got down to the front walk;she could barely see for the tears blurring her eyes.Suddenly,she felt a knife against her throat!

Lou:Move or scream and you die!

Chapter 19:


When Lucky and Luke decended the elevators of Harborview Apartments,they got an uneasy feeling.Luke had thought maybe giving Jason a few hours to calm down,then going to talk things out might smooth things over,but Lucky wanted Luke to go with him.When they reached the penthouse level,they saw Sonny out in the hall talking to Johnny.Something definately felt wrong...

Luke:Sonny?
Sonny:Oh,hey,Luke...(glances at Lucky)Emily's not with you?
Lucky:(feeling his throat go dry)No,why?
Sonny:Well,she and Jason had a fight...real doozie...haven't seen her since.We got the guys out lookin'.

Suddenly,Jason emerged from the penthouse.

Jason:Anything?
Sonny:Nah...sorry.
Jason:That's it;I'm goin' myself...
Sonny:And look where?We got our best guys on it;you need to stay put incase she calls.

Jason just nods and goes back inside.

Lucky:(following)Jason?
Jason:Damnit!This is my fault...All my fault...
Lucky:Huh?
Jason:We...we had a fight...she left...I shoulda gone after her...I thought she could use some time to calm down...we both lost our tempers...ya know?

Lucky nods.

Jason:What if I never see her again?

Emily looked up from the chair she was tied to.She stared with disgust at her captor.Well,he obviously didn't know with whom he was dealing...

Emily:This is a really stupid thing to do,ya know.
Lou:Oh?I don't think so...I think it's rather clever...
Emily:(snorts)You would.
Lou:Oh?I am making your brother pay for this...he'll pay me money...not to mention this will hurt him...
Emily:(definatly)If you hurt me,at all,he'll kill you.
Lou:Really?Who says he'll catch me?
Emily:Well,I know who you are...
Lou:So?I could always flee the country before---
Emily:You obviously don't know who you're dealing with...my brother's reach extends all over the globe...So,unless you plan on going to the moon,he'll hunt you down like a dog till the day you die;and it won't be of natural causes!
Lou:Well...who says you'll be in a position to tell big brother anything?

Chapter 20:


The next morning found things looking grim.Emily had not returned;the men turned up not a trace of her.Jason and Lucky,tired of sitting on their hands,took off in different directions around 5AM.

Emily woke up,all stiff from sleeping tied to that chair.Her joints were starting to lock,so she just fell over when he cut her ropes.

Lou:Oh,yes...I will have you.
Emily:NO!I'd rather die!

She tried to struggle and get away,but,her stiffened joints and overall weakness from the ordeal made it impossible.He wrestled her to the ground and tried to get ahold of her flailing arms.Suddenly,an idea came to her.She just went limp...It had the desired affect,for he merely put her hands over her head and let go.When he got up on his knees to undo his belt,she quickly formed her hands in a hammerlock,and punched him with all her strength.He fell over,clutching himself and screaming.She took advantage of this to run out of there.When she got to the docks,a sight met her eyes that made her so relieved she thought she'd cry...

Emily:Jason!
Jason:(looking up)Emily?

Emily rushes to him,and he sweeps her up in a bear-hug.

Jason:Oh,geez...you scared me somethin' awful...
Emily:I'm sorry...That guy from the garage kidnapped me!
Jason:What?
Emily:Yeah...

Jason looks at her closer,noting her slight brusing and slightly ripped blouse.His eyes narrow further when he sees the rope-burns on her wrists...

Jason:Okay...I'm getting you to a hospital!

Lucky,from his vantage point,was not doing so successfully.He was getting frustrated,when Lou came to him,weilding a gun.

Lucky:Oh,man...
Lou:Come on...You'll have to do...

Chapter 21:


Luke,Sonny,and Mike rushed to the hospital,to see Jason pacing nervously.

Sonny:Jase?
Jason:Um...she's being looked at now.
Sonny:Oh...

Suddenly,something dawned on him.

Jason:Luke,you wanna give Lucky a call?
Luke:Oh,yeah...Okay.

Luke grabbed his cell-phone & started dialing.They were suddenly approached by Eve Lambert.

Eve:Mr. Morgan?
Jason:Yeah?
Eve:(smiling gently)She's okay...there's some brusing,but,nothing major.
Jason:(sighs in relief)Oh,thank God!

Meanwhile...

Lucky:(struggling against the ropes)Are you crazy,man?
Lou:Crazy,am I?

Suddenly,Lucky's cell-phone started ringing.

Lou:Ah...holdin' out on me,huh?(grabs the phone out of Lucky's pocket)Hello?To whom am I speaking?
Luke:Who the hell is this?!Where's my kid?!
Lou:Eh?You're Lucky's father?
Luke:Yes!
Lou:Well...he's a bit...tied up...at the moment...I'll contact you later.

With that,he cut the phone off,and Luke couldn't get through.

Jason:What's wrong?
Luke:Somebody's got Lucky...

Lucky:That was just stupid,man.
Lou:Oh,really?
Lucky:My dad'll never comply with any threats!
Lou:Oh...I have a feeling he'll do exactly as I say...So long as I have his precious baby boy in my posession...Of course,you're not quite as much fun as Morgan's sister...

Lou grins evily as Lucky's head snaps up in shock.

Lucky:(threateningly)If you touched her...
Lou:Well...let's just say we had an...interesting evening together.

With that,he laughs psychotically and leaves Lucky in the room,struggling vainly against the ropes.

Chapter 22:


Sonny had called the men and told them to be on the lookout for Lucky as well,since he'd allready called them to look for Lou.

Emily came down from her shower looking much subdued.Jason almost winced as he beheld again the ugly purple mark that covered nearly half of her face.

Emily:Did you find him?
Jason:No,not yet...
Emily:(miserably,sitting down on the couch)This is all my fault.
Jason:(putting a comforting arm around her shoulders)This is not your fault...I should've been more responsible...put a guard on him when he was looking for you.
Luke:(sharply)Why didn't you?
Jason:I wasn't exactly in the best frame of mind...I know it's no excuse,but---
Emily:(leaning against him)Don't,Jase...Please don't...Lucky wouldn't want you blaming yourself...

Lucky gently rubbed his raw,bloody wrists.He still remembered a few tricks his father had taught him...like how to hold your hands a certain way when you were being tied up,so you could slip out of hte ropes later.He fished in his pocket for his lockpic,hoping to jimmy the window before Lou came back...

Chapter 23:


Lucky was so absorbed in working the window,he didn't hear the footsteps behind him.

Lou:So...guess you just made this easier on me.

Before he could react,Lou grabbed him and punched him so hard he hit his head on the wall.Lou reared back his hand to punch him again,but was stopped by a firm grip on his arm.

Luke:(gruffly)You okay,Cowboy?
Lucky:(grins weakly)Hey,Dad...Yeah,I'm okay.
Luke:Good...Go wait outside,huh?

As Lucky went outside,he heard a series of decidedly loud thuds...

Luke:(standing over Lou's prone form)I don't think I have to make threats to you regarding my kid...Hell,they'd be kinda pointless,considering...

After calling Benny to pick up Lou,Luke took Lucky to reunite him with Emily.His eyes flashed with horror when he saw the bruise,but,she assured him she was all right...

Chapter 24:

About a week after Lou Consten had been...taken care of...Lucky & Emily met at his place for a date.They had decided just to stay in for the night...

Lucky:So...you wanna dance?
Emily:Okay.

Lucky went over to his CD player,and everything went black!He tried the light-switch a couple of times,but,apparently all the power in the place was out.Lucky groped in the dark for Emily's hand.

Lucky:C'mon...maybe we can see from the roof.

When they got up there,they saw that all the power in the city was out...

Emily:Wow.
Lucky:Yeah...You still wanna dance?
Emily:What?We don't have any music.
Lucky:C'mere.I'll take care of that.

Lucky pulled her close,and they began to sway gently as Lucky began to sing...
